Humble And Fred Vintage Video
December 8, 2009 @ 09:05 Humble sent this to me. A segment from a Cable TV Special we did back in the early 90's. This was part of the Cable Special, we were mocking City-TV's Electric Circus. And this is a highlight reel from one of our Humble and Fred's Really Tough Contests in 2000.

Cream Cheese Hot Dogs
May 25, 2007 @ 07:17
I mentioned that I planned on making some of the cream cheese hot dogs that he appeared to be eating in the last episode. As AJ was about to commit suicide, Tony came in the front door and noticed cheese filled dogs on the counter. Of course he grabbed one and stuffed it into his mouth. It was very interesting to notice that he held onto the cheese dog even after he heard AJ's cries from outside, and didn' t throw the dog away until he realized he had to jump into the swimming pool. Here's a FreddieP.ca video recipe. Category: Fun Stuff | Television | Video

Working Class Hero
May 25, 2007 @ 07:15 Yesterday in my American Idol posting I said it should be against the law for anyone to cover a Beatles song. At the very least you should have to prove yourself before a world panel and then get a permit. Near the end of Idol on Wednesday night several past Idols performed a medley of songs from Sgt. Peppers and it put me in a bad mood. What I didn't mention was that earlier in the show Green Day covered John Lennon's "Working Class Hero." Here it is. And as you'll see, they proved themselves and got a permit - although my buddy Mike Stafford disagrees. Category: Video

The Trailer - Week One - May 4-7
May 8, 2007 @ 08:49
Yes Al, the weather was so fantastic on Sunday that I decided to stay over until Monday, and as I pointed out in last Thursday's posting, I didn't have the technology to update FreddieP.ca from the Kawarthas, so I had to take a couple of days off. But it was great. The tin palace is open and fully functional and it didn't take long to get right back into the regular swing of things. We cooked big steaks over the open fire, sat on the dock and stared up the lake, and I traded Stanley Cup hats with a couple of other guys who also bought a case of Bud Lite. I dumped my Ottawa for a Calgary, and traded one of my Tampa Bay's for a Detroit. I also put the roof on my Tiki Bar, and although I haven't added all the lights and accessories yet, in this video you can still appreciate how it's taking shape. Category: The Trailer | Video

Team Choke
March 31, 2007 @ 09:32
Garrioch started his segment by telling Leafs Lunch that Ottawa's All-sports radio station had a call-in segment yesterday morning and Senator fans were urging their over-rated, piece of crap, choke artist hockey team to throw their game against Montreal last night. The reasoning was simple, Senators fans hate the Leafs and they want them to miss the playoffs. And to tell you the truth I'm not surprised. On the surface you'd assume suck ass Senator fans would want this out of spite alone because you wouldn't figure the Leafs would pose much of a threat to anybody in the playoffs, but it goes beyond that. Ottawa fans may be stupid, but they aren't dumb. They know what a spineless, gutless hockey team they have, and the last thing they need is another match-up with the underdog Maple Leafs in the playoffs. It probably wouldn't happen in the first round, but Ottawa fans know that Toronto has a tradition of over-achieving in the playoffs and they don't want to take any chances of having the Leafs upset somebody, and then tangle with their gang of gag artists. I don't have to go over the history because any hockey fan is well aware of the Senators miserable history when it comes to the playoffs - and it was deliciously highlighted last year when Daniel Alfredsson, with the Senators playoff life on the line, stood there and allowed Buffalo's Jason Pominville to skate around him for the series winning shorthanded goal. No doubt the Senators are a distasteful team to begin with having developed players like Hossa the eye picker and Havlat the kicker - but their fans are even worse. Senator fans are collectively sickening. Like that weasel you can't stand at work, the type that would give a tourist the wrong directions just for the fun of it, the type who would swear at your wife if she was wearing a Leaf sweater. Arsholes basically, big goofy arsholes! To tell you the truth, I get to this point of this essay and I don't know why I even bothered. Ottawa fans will never change, and neither will their hockey team. Now enjoy this video. Appreciate how Alfie takes a feeble swipe at Pominville while he swoops around him. Given the situation, Alfie "the captain" should have done anything he could to stop the Sabre, including holding, hooking, high sticking or tripping - after all, the Senators were on a power-play, taking a penality wouldn't have hurt. I guess Alfie wasn't thinking.
Lesbo Friends
March 30, 2007 @ 09:00
He was talking about the growing popularity of pseudo lesbianism in the United States. Poor old Bill can't figure out why all these young girls in America are kissing each other if they aren't really lesbians. Two women tried to explain it to the old bugger but he wouldn't buy their story that girls do it for attention because young men seem to enjoy watching it. Bill seems to think it goes deeper than that, and therapy is in order. Anyway as part of his presentation, O'Reilly used a clip from Tuesday's season finale of "Dirt". It's a show on the FX channel starring Courtney Cox and I don't believe it's available in Canada. Apparently Courtney plays a ruthless, horny bitch who's willing to do anything to get ahead. In the season finale, Jennifer Aniston was a guest star and the two former "Friends" stars actually kiss after referring to a lesbian affair. As you can imagine there was a lot of pre-show hype (which escaped me) but when the big moment happened on Tuesday night it was considered a major disappointment, and for the most part I have to agree. Have a look. It rates a 3 out of 10 on the "baby come on!" scale.

Not A Pretty Sight
March 23, 2007 @ 09:00 Fighting in hockey is an interesting issue the way it can pull you both ways. Like most other hockey fans I love a good fight and I'd be reluctant to see it banned from the NHL because it would probably lead to other nastiness. But when I see someone like Todd Fedoruk get flattened by Colton Orr it makes me feel sick to my stomach and wonder if there really is any place in the game for fighting. I realize on average the incidences of someone actually getting hurt in a hockey fight are few and far between, but I can't imagine anyone really likes to see anything like this.
The Fight
March 21, 2007 @ 09:11 In case you missed it last night, here's great video of Belak's fight with Janssen. And here's an interesting footnote. Mere seconds after the fight was over, I received this e-mail from Jimmy Lang at Sportsnet. "How good was that bout with that knob Janssen? Baby c'mon." Clubber
The Great Global Warming Swindle
March 13, 2007 @ 09:10
In flies in the face of the global warming hysteria that we've been subjected to over the past several months and addresses how global warming has moved from an environmental issue to a political issue to a morality issue. It doesn't dispute global warming; it simply questions the prevailing science and gives proof of other factors that are contributing to it. Factors well beyond our control which means there's nothing we can do about it. And most of all it attacks those arrogant bastards who claim the debate is over, those who make you feel like you're an enemy of the planet if you raise a few questions and disagree with KYOTO. It provides the other side which has been suppressed by too many left wing loony tune losers. I'd like to get a copy in a format that I could conveniently shove up David Suzuki's ass.

Let's Be Doing It
March 7, 2007 @ 08:27
Over the years I developed a couple of catch phrases that have hung on till this day. They are "baby come on!" and "let's be doing it." You may have noticed that I call this page of my blog "let's be doing it." I didn't want to be like everyone else and have the word blog on my page so I decided to come up with something else and I thought "let's be doing it" would do the trick because when you get right down to it, that's what we're doing. Anyway, this prompted an e-mail from my good friend Jim Lang. Hi Fred. I can't get your "let's be doing it" line out of my head. Of course I gave my permission, then last night I sat down to watch Sportsnet Connected and Jimmy did his thing. Listen closely when Pavel Datsyuk scores for Detroit. Lang's a beaut. "It's now Monday at 8:30 pm. I'm in withdrawl and need my Freddie P fix. You can't still be at the aluminum cottage. Get back to your obligations."
I was listening to Leafs Lunch on am 640 yesterday and Jeff and Bill had Bruce Garrioch as a guest. He's a writer with the Ottawa Sun and often appears on the Hockey Night in Canada hot stove.
This didn't actually come to my attention until last night when I was watching Bill O'Reilly on the Fox News Channel.
Below is the BBC documentary called the Global Warming Swindle that was aired on British TV last week.
How does the saying go, imitation is the greatest form of flattery. Well if that's the case then I'm flattered.
