Too Late Ruby

March 27, 2011 @ 10:18

Well it didn't take long. The election call came at nine o'clock Saturday morning, and by one o'clock Saturday afternoon I received a recorded phone message from my MP, Liberal Ruby Dhalla.

Dhalla won the last election in Brampton- Springdale by a slim margin, so this time around it's expected she's going to join a whack of other Liberal MP's and get the flush.

And from my perspective she deserves it. On four occasions since 2008 I've called her office to talk about issues and not once did I receive a return call. Not even from one of her handlers to explain why.

That's why I found yesterday's message so ironic. It talked of working together and being accessible. Bullshit. How do you work together when only one side is willing to pick up the phone?

Of course you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out. Ever since nannygate back in 2009, Ruby has kept a low profile. Check that, she popped back into the news later in the same year with immigrant-seniorgate. But since then, I often wonder if she has left the country.

Anyway, I didn't hesitate to return the call yesterday, and what do you know, there was actually someone at her office and they were quick to tell me that Ruby will be happy to get back to me if I needed to talk.

Sorry, too late.

You might have a nice ass Ruby, but I want to see it kicked into orbit.

Funny, Peter Fonseca didn't call me back either when I call him a few months back when he was my MPP.

But his recorded message, now as a the liberal candidate for federal MP, did find it's way to my answering machine at 11:00 in the morning on Saturday. I had the decency to call him back though... Called him back in 2 hours and told him to never call my house again.

Funny how now politishuns are now everyone's best friends!!
What is worse from where I live there will be 3 elections to confuse people in next 8 months.
Federal May,Provincial Fall and By-Election because our pal Iggy will resign a day after the Federal election.
That's real nice!!!

My Central Toronto portfolio Liberal simply doesn't show up to vote in the House of Commons. Or I can protest vote for a NDP, talking pundit, CAW 'bankruptcy planner'. There is never a credible CPC candidate on the ballot in these parts. Often it is merely a riding president fill-in, probably won't be different this time either.

My local Liberal had a phone conference party call along with Judy Sgro.

They wouldn't take my call, I wanted to ask was Judy supplying the pizzas and exotic dancers. LOL.

Perhaps Freddie's greatest line... ever.

Hey Freddie. Your column inspired me to check and see how often my MP actually went to work in Ottawa. Not surprisingly, this information is not in the Public Domain.

Nice.

Any ideas how we might compile a list of which MPs actually went to work and then publish the list before Election Day?

So this election isn't about issue's. It's about just getting a Conservative majority. Right vs Left. I'm not saying who is right or who is wrong but I'm done with all your Right wing nit picking. I do have questions about the Liberal leader but I have zero faith in the Conservative leader. The NDP don't even register an opinion. I will revisit your blog after the election. I don't need to read your daily love in for Harper. Read you again May 4Th.

As a rule, I don't pass along these "add your name" lists that appear in e-mails. BUT this one is important. It has been circulating for months and has been sent to over 20 million people.

To show your support for Michael Ignatieff please go to the end of the list and add your name.

1. Mrs Ignatieff
2.

Whoa. Just did a Google image search on Ruby Dhalla. A nice ass is not her only attributes! Maxim ranked her #3 in their 10 hottest politicians - I think they were off by 2. Brampton has a tough decision to make. Although, I guess if she's never around to be seen, what's the point...

I'm wondering why Ruby is even running. It might be more dignified to bow out now, rather than face certain defeat on election night,

I believe Ms.Dhalla will go back to running the family business. That Is bad news for all of us Flea Market vendors west of Toronto.

Pam---you can't imagine the egos involved. But actually we can. Spans 5000 miles across and how many north? That's large!!!!!!

It does not surprise me, Dhalla does not respond. September 2009, she held her annual BBQ on one of holiest days on The Jewish Calendar. I sent her a email, and yet to receive an apology for her insensitivity.

I got a PERSONAL call from the PC candidate in MY riding.
"Can we put up a sign?"

"YES!" I replied. "THE BIGGEST ONE YOU'VE GOT!"

Sorry, but it's absolutely hilarious hearing right-wingers complain about how much MP's work when Harper shut down parliament twice.

I'd vote for a politician with a nice ass for sure.
