Sun TV News

March 9, 2011 @ 07:57

It's a done deal. Sun TV News will go to air on April 18th and I can't wait.

It's not the actual channel I'm anxious for, I'm more looking forward to the reaction from you know who. Since plans for the channel were announced back in June it' been quite entertaining to watch and listen to the opponents.

There have been thousands of interventions against the channel and one group actually went to the CRTC demanding that "Fox News North" be stopped.

Imagine that, people thinking that they should have a say in what you and I watch. They don't have right leaning beliefs, so nobody else should. It really is amusing.

It boils down to this; they don't think you and I should have a choice. We shouldn't be able to watch a channel that they don't like, even though they haven't even seen what they don't like.

Listen, Sun TV News might be the biggest pile of garbage that was ever inflicted upon the public, but we should still have the opportunity to make that decision. To think that there are some that would prevent this basic right is frightening.

It doesn't mean much to a lot of you, but there's a message board that's quite popular amongst the radio crowd and there are some big opponents of Sun TV News, problem is, none of the opponents really offer any solid arguments against why Canadians shouldn't have this choice.

There just seems to be a lot of sniping against Stephen Harper, Conservatives and right wing people being stupid and not being capable of making proper judgments based on what they see.

Anyway, I'm going to extend an invitation to a couple of the people who frequent the message board. I'm going to ask them to explain why Sun TV News is such a threat and why having a right leaning TV channel is something we should be saved from.

I hope they respond in a positive manner. So you can compare their beliefs to mine, and then make a choice.

The Cult

March 5, 2011 @ 11:22

Here's something else that I find fascinating. It's one thing to be a leftie in this country; it's a whole other thing to be a Toronto leftie.

The hypocrisy of this cult is mind boggling.

They talk of truth, transparency and justice, but when someone who isn't painted this same colour as they are pursues such virtues, they find a way to turn on him.

I make sure I read the Toronto Star every day so I can get my fix of Ford bashing. It's amazing how the newspaper, along with its legion of narrow minded whack jobs can come up with something every day to smear Ford while he's following the path of truth, transparency and justice.

OK, he's fat, he's rough around the edges and he doesn't provide the adequate image of Toronto's beautiful people, but he sure as hell knows how to get to the bottom of something, and I don't mean the peanut butter jar.

The latest swipe is comparing Ford supporters to the American tea party movement.

Give me an f-in break. It's beyond stupid, it's childish. It ain't a tea party; it's a more like wanting a coffee break from being blatantly hosed.

Then again I should be surprised, last week I heard Stephen Harper compared to Muammar Gaddafi.

Hab Fan Goes Where He Belongs

March 4, 2011 @ 12:45

It's with the utmost pleasure that I share with readers the news that my good friend and devoted Hab fan Freeway Frank has got a new radio job.

During my two bewildering years at the Mix in Toronto I met a lot of great people in the halls and Frank was one of them.

He's a passionate man who loves radio, loves his hockey team and definitely loves his hometown of Habfanistan. What a fantastic turn of events that after a year or so of being out of work he is hired as the new morning man at Virgin Radio Montreal.

Frank is great at what he does, and after getting the boot from a station in Calgary, I'm sure it played on his mind quite a bit whether he'd ever get back in the game.

Not only did Frankie get back in the game, he scored big time and nobody deserves it more than this guy.

Calgary's loss is Montreal's gain, and I'm sure with his Montreal roots he'll do a kick ass morning show and become a very wealthy young man.

Hey Frankie.... Loving you!

Throw Em All In The Can

March 1, 2011 @ 08:06

Yesterday was a bad day for Toronto, and it had nothing to do with the Leafs failure to make a significant trade on deadline day.

It was a bad day because two cases of crimes against humanity were revealed and in both cases the perpetrators should pay dearly.

I don't know where to begin with that asshole in Markham who moved his elderly mother into his uninsulated garage. Imagine that, his mother became a bit of burden, so rather than get her the necessary help; he put her in the garage.

Nice one.

All the gruesome details are available in your local newspapers, but the past can't be undone, what matters now is the future and I can't wait to see what punishment this guy gets.

That seems to be the critical breakdown of our society today, failing to hand out adequate punishment to those who severely affect the lives of others.

Like rapists, wife beaters and the kind of scum that would banish his mother to a garage because she has incontinence.

I'm also anxious to see what happens to the crew that blew hundreds of thousands of dollars while running the Toronto Community Housing Corporation.

How convenient the city now has a mayor with balls who will sniff out the culprits and go to every length possible to punish them to the full extent.

To be honest, I'm not surprised by this. In fact it's so Toronto. During the Miller regime the city was full of bleeding hearts who were allowed to run wild and pretend they were acting in the best interests of the people, while helping themselves to wide variety of freebies.

This latest controversy is the height of betrayal. While supposedly looking after the interests of the poor, and continuously claiming they were underfunded, the leaches who ran the TCHC were living like kings with lavish parties, weekend getaways and spa treatments.

This is a crime against every citizen of Toronto.

I really hope this goes beyond job loss, I hope it goes into grounds from criminal charges.

Go get em' Robbie.
