Mr Ford's comment did get a bit of applause, but to me it sure looked like the audience was stacked with S.O.B. types (south of Bloor) who are scared of what the future will be like without a tax and spend mayor.
I have not decided who I will vote for, but I was very disgusted with the other candidates who twisted this issue around.
I really feel that the more that Smitherman, Rossi, and Pantload try to make Mr Ford look bad, the more that people will want to vote for him. Mr Ford might be Mel Lastman Jr when it comes to the embarassment factor, but what choice do the people have?

He's probably correct in terms of the infrastructure "bursting at the seams" - but, so what? I don't see him offering any solutions. Saying "We already have too many people here" doesn't solve a thing. Last I checked, people still have freedom of movement. If you're in Canada legally, you can live wherever you want.
As an aside, you still have it pretty good in T.O. You want to see a crowded city? Try NYC or London. Toronto is like a village.

I watched this one on the tube, and not once did I hear Rob Ford say he didn't necessarily want the refugees here, he merely stated the truth when he said Toronto cannot even support the population NOW.
I also heard this morning that they dug up some old charge for pot possession in Florida. To his credit, Rob didn't duck the issue and admitted it (after a brief lapse of amnesia!).

I'm sick of David Miller and his merry band of champagne socialists. However, Rob Ford is not the answer either. Rob Ford is a primate. Oh how I wish John Tory would run. Please John, run.
BTW, the real power in the City of Toronto is City Council. Rob Ford is just one vote as mayor, though he does get to pick the heads of the committees, I admit, which helps him set the tone. However, at the end of the day, he is not going to be Joe Stalin and he cannot rule by decree. If Rob Ford as mayor cannot build bridges and form some sort of compromise on the issues - NOTHING is going to get done.
As to the immigrant thing...I'm all for skilled immigrants being allowed into Canada, including the GTA. We will only bennefit by their skills and education. I draw the line at Tamils in a ship though - unless they are willing to permanently locate to Northern Ontario. (No free pass to the GTA.)

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod's. It works well, but isn't as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that's not an issue, but if you're planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod's larger screen and better browser may be important.

This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. The interface is colorful, has more flair, and some cool features like 'Mixview' that let you quickly see related albums, songs, or other users related to what you're listening to. Clicking on one of those will center on that item, and another set of "neighbors" will come into view, allowing you to navigate around exploring by similar artists, songs, or users. Speaking of users, the Zune "Social" is also great fun, letting you find others with shared tastes and becoming friends with them. You then can listen to a playlist created based on an amalgamation of what all your friends are listening to, which is also enjoyable. Those concerned with privacy will be relieved to know you can prevent the public from seeing your personal listening habits if you so choose.

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

I never had much fun playing mmorpgs before, eventhough I will call myself a new hardcore player this usually plays video games like Call of Duty and the like.
