Habs Watch - Two Down, Two To Go

It should have been 10-0 but we'll take 2-0. Tonight was justice for any genuine hockey fan.

It would be nice to watch a playoff game featuring the Habs where not "all" the action is in their end, and oh yea, the Halak bullshit is about to end.

The question is, will the Habs score another goal in this series?

I guess we weren't watching the same game. Technically 1-0 win. Not very mighty for a team of Crosby's and Malkin's. Lucky Fleury was on. Halak was on again and they failed to score the many times they had. Habs win Thurs and the series goes back to Penny 2-2. You can book that one Mr. Bud lite.

When you have a goalie like Halak, shouldn't he stop every puck, win every game, stop world hunger, find the meaning of life and bring Montreal to the promise land? no. BUT, this is what everyone has heard or said about this 24 year old God send.

and I'm pretty sure it goes into the books as a 2-0 loss to Montreal... technically.

Unfortunately, Ted, you are WRONG in suggesting that Halak played les than 20 games this season. He played 45......two less than when a rookie named Patrick Roy back-stopped the Habs to a Stanley Cup Championship in 1986.

@ Gene, Montreal did accomplish a great feat by knocking off the best team in the league. Although you are correct, they may miss the playoffs next year, unlike Toronto they actually have a chance to compete for the cup next year.

Don't care who wins PITT/MTL, but how sad is it that the organization feels the need to have all the Americans on the home team identified individually, in order to help prevent negative response to The Star Spangled Banner?

David is right. The jist of these thread battles seems to be about 20,000 gino fans at the Bell Centre and their reprehensible behaviour while there are a couple of Western Conference series that mean WAAAYY more in terms of quality of hockey.

Did I think the Habs would win in 93? I started to believe it when they came back from 2-0 vs a great Nordiques team.

My 2 cents! Habs rule and will always rule... Lets face it detroit and toronto suck! Especially detroit since half their players are from the other side of the world! Habs always do make it to the playoffs but usually get beat our in round 1!
The reason for losing is because they give all their players away and cannot afford them in trade and also to cheap on their salaries to keep the good ones! Wouldn't you go play elsewhere?

Why does it matter were a player is from.That is what makes the NHL the best sports league in the world , for the most part its were all the best players come to play.
I would rather see high flying action then dump and chase Montreal style hockey I swear Lucky Lou from Jersey must be consulting there its boring.Detroit is fast and exciting what they lack is a goalie , look at Vancouver they have a few import players it does not hurt them

Habs are the only Cinderella team to win the cup that I can remember. Most bomb out in the finals.Maybe the '67 Leafs but there were only 4 going then.
Habs took care of the big bad Flyers with Gainey and Robinson.
