Habs Watch - The Ridiculousness Continues

May 10, 2010 @ 21:54

I'm not going to write or say another word about the Habs until they're dead.

If there is a God, how could he allow such good fortune to be wasted on a hockey team when there are children starving all over the world?

I'm at a total loss. The world is upside down.

I'm a Leaf fan and have been rooting for Pens, but man... you gotta respect what these habs are putting down. They're playing hard, smart and with heart... something Ovie and crew could only dream of. They have acheived results well above what their talent suggests should be possible. Barely made the playoffs yet proving very tough to beat when the pressure is on in big games. Horseshoes can get you a few flukey wins, but 7 playoff wins against strong clubs when the chips are down suggests something a tad more than just BS luck. If Leafs had found a way to squeek into the show and turned in this type of effort imagine how proud good ole t-dot would be... and rightfully so!

Maybe they are Leafs disguised and Habs??????

These guys are playing their minds out. It's a Cinderella story and its a great one. You can say luck or whatever but they are winning against other GOOD PLAYOFF teams.

This is all self-explanatory to true hockey fans. G, gets it. To all the haters? That's game 14 of the playoffs for Mtl coming up onWed!...that's right. Two game 7's. With the two biggest teams in the East. If you can't say anything nice, go watch the IIHF and enjoy your summer.

Oh yeah, and let me give you a parallel to your analogy G. Had the Leafs gotten this far, the CN Tower would have fallen into Lake Ontario by now. The city would be in complete celebration mode. Don't kid yourselves, a Cinderella story is a beautiful thing.

I hope you'll stay true to your word when you say you'll never talk or write about the Habs again. We, the Habs fans, know why you even waste your time writing these idiocies. It's all because you're JEALOUS! Yes big time jealous you know why? It's because if it was your discusting Leafs out there and they beat Washington and Pittsburgh, I guarantee you wouldn't say it was all luck. You would say something like they wanted it more than the other team or how much better they played. Stop being jealous because we all know that you wish your Leafs were in our position now. And if you disagree with that, bullshit.

@Freeway
When the man's reight he's right.

To use your rules Freddie ("no referring to the apparently meaningless past when arguing Habs/Laffs") - I don't really care who wins, but I can tell you that one team has been on the golf course for about a month and the other is getting ready to play its' second Game Seven. Ipsa Loquitur, as the lawyers say.

The Habs out played them out worked them, out chanced them and wanted it more, and deserved to win big time! If I remember Fred this all started because back in January YOU predicted the Habs wouldn't make the playoffs and the Leafs would get in no problem. You know very little about hockey. It's a game of emotion and will. The Habs have it due to their successful history. The Leafs don't due to their laughable past.

Washing and Pittsburgh we're predicted to stomp the Canadians.

Who wouldn't have predicted that outcome based on the Canadiens limping into the playoffs.

But the post season play of the Habs have been great some nights and others poor. Never the less les blue, blanc et rouge have won seven post seasons games.

Canada right now only has two teams in the playoffs. Let's get behind an all Canadian Stanley Cup.

If the Leafs were in the position of the Habs I would be happy for the Buds and their fans.

All that said if Pittsburgh wins on Wednesday the Habs are done.

Go Habs Go and the Canucks too!

Can't say I'm a Hab fan, however, they are giving the fans a great playoff run. The games against Washington and now Pittsburgh are some of the most exciting games I've seen in a long time.

Hey Fred , I am with you on this Hab thing. I would like to say what has aggrevated me the most from childhood. I have always followed the ABM rule (cheer for anyone but Montreal) why ? It is rarely the palayers on the team it is always been their fans...wait let me narrow that down a little. It is not fans from Quebec or fans of french origin that annoy me the most. It is actually the guy from oh lets say Scarborough or Etobicoke or Ajax born and raised in the GTA. No connection to the city or any of the players from Montreal but it seems that their body parts grow everytime Montreal wins anything. I too have seen hab fans throw leaf history in my face when they feel the least slighted. I would love to see a survey on Anglo non Quebec Hab fans to see who they cheer for in other sports. I have this feeling they cheer for the following teams....NFL Football ( Dallas Cowboys) MLB ( Definitley the Yankees) NBA (Chicago Bulls/ La Lakers) Golf (only Tiger) do you see a pattern here? They tend to find that there own self worth is tied to teams with a winning history. I can find no reason why a someone born and raised in the GTA would not at least have some connection to their home team. I guess when they hear about their own high school sports team in a big game they probably cheer for the school with the bigger winning percentages that is the competition. Why be loyal when that other school has a way cooler history. Makes them feel like a winner in their own lives. Sad really.

To all Habs fans out there, stop reading this blog if it upsets you so much!

It's Freddie's site and he can say what he wants. Personally, I'm ok with his predictions.. he's bound to be right with one of them sooner or later.

I think it's safe to say with all the positive reaction on Canadian Thinker (especially from enemies of the Habs that Habs WATCH has officially jumped the shark.

Man, have you considered psychotherapy? hatred is a strong word my friend. There are more reasonable things in this world to express hatred towards than a hockey team. Yes, I am a habs fan and the way the team is gelling and executing a defensive strategy against the top hockey players in the world by committee is nothing short of admirable. Stop pretending you can predict the future and that you are some sort of hockey sorcerer. Let things you cant control go or you will give yourself a heart attack. Just like your friend george costanza.
