Full Body Shampoo

April 29, 2010 @ 07:29

I was surfin' the other day and happened upon The Hodge Blog where Rick Hodge wrote about running out of bar soap and using shampoo on his body instead.

To Rick, this was weird and different. But to me, it's the norm.

I haven't used a bar of soap on my body in decades. No, it's a one product process for me when I'm in the shower and I'm no worse for the wear. My skin may be getting leathery in the areas, but I think that's the dirty work of father time, not the result of using shampoo on my body.

I've tried the soap thing in the past, and because circumstance dictated, I've been forced to go completely the other way and used bar soap on my hair, but I don't like it.

I found bar soap did to my skin what shampoo was supposed to do.

Bar soap, no matter what type I used always made my skin feel tight and itchy. Irish Spring literally attacked my skin. Camay is supposed to have one quarter cold cream, but the other three quarters made me feel flakey.

A couple of years ago my wife bought Caress and insisted I use it because it contained some oils and minerals that were supposed to make the Fred man nice and smooth everywhere.

Nope. I didn't like it.

Here's the thing, shampoo companies always talk about their products being "gentle" on your hair and scalp, so why wouldn't that apply to your over-all package.

When I get into the show it's a very quick and economic process. I rinse, then grab the shampoo, my favourite right now is "Natures Gate Herbal", I apply a generous portion to my head and then use the lather for a full body shampoo.

I scrub my scalp; I wash my face and neck, and then do the rest of my body while concentrating on three areas in particular. My underarms, my fellas and my hoop.

I don't have to worry about reaching for the bar soap, I don't have to worry about it squirting out of my hand when it becomes small and I don't have to deal with the affects it has on my skin.

Try it, you'll like it and save money too!

After reading that I feel like I need a shower, and probably nothing short of a lobotomy will purge the mental image of Fred shampooing his "hoop". Yuck.

I do the Shampoo soap down too, not only is shampoo better on the skin its also faster, its easy to lather up and I use this Shampoo with Tea Tree Oil which if you have ever tried it provides a nice little tingling cool freshness

Fred,
Try one of the Sports Body Wash products.
I keep it in my hockey bag and use it twice a week after a game.
Quick . Easy. One step. Fortunatly we both still have most of our hair left at age 53 so it doubles as shampoo and soap.
Shoppers Drug Mart carries a few differnt ones. Adidas. Irish spring.
I use the Old Spice one.
Old Spice.
Another sign that we are turning into our fathers.

That is just sick and unnatural unless of course you run out bar soap. It wasn't so much the shampoo it was the conditioner giving my full body...full body!

Outside Your Body Lyrics
November 26, 2010 / 21:18

It seems like Amerie is really switching it up in her new song, titled Outside Your Body. She's going back to her Korean roots in her track, melding rhythm and blues with Korean pop music. This avant-garde song sounds amazing on my playlist and I can't wait for the music video to drop!
