Usually uoi can't go wrong with a Hilton or Marriot property.
Also look at vrbo.com. Owners of small condos to big houses rent them out, alot of time cheaper than hotels with more comforts of home
If going as far as Key West, look at the Duval House. More like a B&B, but quite and walking distance to everything

My wife reads trip advisor and if it were up to her we wouldn't stay anywhere and sleep in the car.
I find CAA genrally gives me the best accommodation rates.
I have never had a bad experience in a Holiday Inn Express. Even used hem in NYC and the were great.

You have to remember that the companies themselves have been caught putting good/great reviews up on their sites to help sway punters. Throw out the best and worst and see what the middle gives you.

I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Miami in December and it was great. Pretty affordable too. It's close to the cruise ship port (a 5 min walk to the water)and probably a 5 min taxi ride to south beach. Lots of shopping nearby too. You should check it out!

Coral Bay Resort in Islamorada. It's not in Key West, but it's quiet and all of the Keys are a quick trip. Driving around Key West, I'm glad I didn't stay there. Overpriced and touristy and pricey.

Hey Fred,
My wife and I have been to Key West numerous times and we always stay at Andrew's Inn. It is right off of Duval Street, so close to the action, but quiet at night as you don't hear the noise from Duval.
They have free cocktails around the pool from 4 - 6pm.
The place is like an Oasis.
