But the questions begs to be asked. What if the black woman had been a white woman? Would the arrest have been OK?

The truth is somewhere between the woman's version of events and the officer's.

My run in with the police are few and far between but when I'm on the receiving end of questions from an officer I respond immediately no matter if I think he/she has a right to to question me. I don't want to be wind up on the ground with a boot on my head and cuffs around my wrists

Not being a person of colour I have no idea how it feels to believe that you are always in the police sights just because of what you look like.

A Caucasian in a position of authority has "an expectation of docility and compliance" from a Caucasian person, so why not a black person??? I sure as hell hope she paid the fines (ya, right!)!

I'm with Horonymous on this one.

My son has a black friend who is a straight A student, 3rd year college, never been in trouble and he says the fear he has when pulled over for a traffic violation or anything in general with the police is intimidating. My son has witnessed this first hand and said the cops never talk to him in the same way they do his friend.

The way the officer maybe started his questioning to her set the whole situation up to go wrong.

Her reaction intensified it so, somewhere in the middle is the truth.

The tickets given were just the cops way of getting his last jabs, guarenteed they will be tossed if disputed. A waste of time and taxpayers money.
