They claim it will be good for business because it will be one tax instead of two and they'll give it right back to us through tax breaks. Don't hold your breath, the lower income groups will NEVER get it back. If one sales tax instead of two is better, why wouldn't they just average it out to whatever works out to the same amount and make it 10% or 11% or whatever to keep the businesses happy? Of course McSquinty wouldn't do that because he won't get any more money that way. Case closed.
