This is getting a bit more subjective, but I much prefer the Zune Marketplace. Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

I personally don't see a lot of difference. Most people say the towels use up trees but the trees used are a renewable resource as they are replanted after harvesting. However the dryer uses electricity which if produced by a coal burning plant is dirtying up the atmosphere and using up a non renewable resource. How free can poor subsistence farmers invest more into their farm when even moving around the country is restricted by an open zoo? I would also knock off every crocodile on earth too (two legs good; four legs bad). They are a danger to children (probably not you) and chickens that the farmers might own. Think of how profitably domesticated herds could use the same vast natural resources used by useless to poor people's wild herds and their natural predators. I am completely serious about this even if I might be twisted, ill informed, or both.

I am unable to really see a motive why somebody would get the i5 over the Phenom. For gaming the Phenom is far better value and for something like encoding the i7-8xx could be a better choice due to hyper-threading help (implies that a quad core can run 8 threads concurrently)
