No Darryl, Doug Or Wendel

September 30, 2009 @ 16:45

I don't want to spend a lot of time on this, so I'll let you slide over to Toronto Mike's site for all the tear jerking details.

Mats Sundin retired today. Big Deal.

If you've been reading this website for any length of time you know I've never been a big Mats Sundin fan. I had many an argument with many a Sundin-sucker over the years but I felt totally vindicated when he left Toronto the way he did.

Even though he had a no trade contract, he slapped Toronto fans in the face by not accepting a trade which would allow the Leafs to get something in return. Then he finishes out the season and skips town.

He screwed all the people he claims to love.

Not only that, he was a king-sized miserable failure whenever there money on the line. He was a playoff poof who never took us anywhere.

Gary Roberts was the man.

Bye Mats. Bite my clank.

He made us a better team last year, and we will miss a strong center on the second line for sure. Sorry, we never got to have him for long.
PS. Has he really been playing for 40years, cause that is how long since the cup was in TO, so I think there is more than one person to shite on - but Burkie is there now, so a cup can be won in one of our off years..have a great season Fred!!

I'm with you, Fred - who really cares? Though, Gary Roberts...? Nah. Tie Domi was THE MAN.

Burke said it best today on McCowns show, this guy was top 10.

Guess he knows more about hockey than you you do, second fiddle to Humble?

I agree with Fred here. He screwed the Leafs. Good riddance.

He was a good player...but not elite. When it counted the most...he just wasn't there.

Sadly, the team always did better when he wasn't in the line-up.

"he screwed the Leafs" "he screwed Toronto" - Pam, are you saying he's our own little, Swedish Wilt Chamberlain? I can't wait for that book - I've heard about you Leaf girls from Toronto!

Good player, lousy leader compared to Dougie, Wendell, Darryl.

He ALWAYS played with so-so players on his line. Mats was ok. They have no one nearly as good as he was, now.

Mats was a good hockey player.

He was a bad leader.

It still shouldn't diminish his accomplishments with Toronto.

And Domi? Please he has rocks for brains and hands.

Finally! Now we never have to hear about Mats this, Mats that, what did Mats have for dinner, and "mmmm, did you smell that bowel movement".

I am sick of Mats Sundin. Good hockey player or great, it was over for Toronto long ago. Now Toronto get over him. Please!!!

"He was a playoff poof who never took us anywhere."

And where exactly did Dougie, Wendel or Darryl take us?

And I LOVE this he screwed the Leafs nonsense. The guy had a no trade clause, which he EARNED, and when it came down to ask Sundin for a trade he decided to exercise the no trade clause. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever. What a bunch of whiners you all are. Blame Sundin for everything. WAKE UP! It's been 40 plus years of misery and every single person associated with the Leafs since 1967 should share in the blame.

What is sad is that you call yourself "Freeway".

Mats wasn't the problem Fred, they never put a winner around the guy, Who were his wingers the last few years Ponikarovsky and Domi? Yeah they had Belfour but he was in his 40's, Felix yeah but he melted up pressure too.
I would take Mats as a Sabre any day of the week, and you know what therea re 28 other NHL teams that would take him too. Take a lot at the wingers they put out there with him that will tell you all, especially in his later years.

I can articulate, that in all the time I've spent online, viewing weblogs, I have never read one as to the point and well crafted as this one, I do not normally comment on blogs however for yourself I felt the need to make an exception, this really is in reality excellent work and completely opposite to the drivel, that i spend the vast majority of my time online, reading. Thanks a lot for bothering and investing your energy to supply your readers with a 1st class write-up. I look ahead to reading so much more of your work, once again thank you. Debs

As a rookie blogger myself personally, it really is superb to read a first rate blogger for something different. I hope to understand so much from checking out other folks blogs and I feel that the ones you have has plenty to offer the subscriber, thanks a lot for taking a few minutes and making the effort. Building a Mosque at Ground Zero must be the ridiculous plan during the history of man, I very seriously consider it to be maliciously intended, at best, to insight controversy. I'm no conspiracy theorist and yet this is certainly either shameful or noxious, most probably the two of them. alexandra

Why is Developing a Mosque at Ground Zero truly being allowed to take place? I've never heard anything so downright preposterous in all of my life. If this really approaches reality, It would be the worst thing of all time. wilda

Constructing a Mosque at Ground Zero must be the un thought thru notion in the history of humans, I certainly do think it's maliciously engineered, at very best, to insight controversy. I'm not much a conspiracy theorist however , this is certainly either shameful or wicked, quite likely the two. adeline
