Ruutu The Rat

January 7, 2009 @ 08:55

When the Ottawa Senators acquired Jarkko Ruutu this past summer I thought it was the perfect fit.

A repulsive player joins arguably the most repulsive team in the NHL.

To begin with the Senators were stockpiled with gutless underachievers, so it was fitting they added a dirty rat to the lineup.

Earlier this year he was suspended two games for delivering a vicious and dirty elbow to the head of Montreal's Maxim Lapierre.

Last night, he scraped the bottom of the barrel. He bit the hand of Buffalo's Andrew Peters.

Ruttu denies it, but that's what rats do, but it's plain to see on the video below and it'll be interesting to see what the league does about it.

Granted, Ruutu, despite being a professional creep and the perfect Ottawa Senator, doesn't have a long history of suspensions.

But he's got a reputation.

A disgusting one - and that's a lot worse.

We all knew that the Senators sucked so it was inevitable that they would bite eventually.

Biting , slapping, sloppy seconds. At least no one has been shot yet.

Girly tactics for a desparate team headed for the basement of the league. I posted it today, While the Sabres make the playoffs, the Sens will be dead last and thats enough payback.

I really hate this cheapshot artist but at least he got 2 games for crossing the line. But your right he fits in perfect with this team chalk full of cowards!!!

The "code" lives on. It's OK to pound a guy in the face, break his nose, bust out his teeth, give him a concussion, FIVE minute penalty.

But bite, TWO game suspension?

Honour amongst thieves.

who cares...really...i saw the whole thing unedited and the player who cried like a baby about his boo boo hand...was running his leather gloved hand up and down rutuus...face...giving him a hard face wash.....if someone took a big rough glove..and starting shoving it and scraping it across my face.....
..i do not want to print what i would do....and the other player to jump around as if he had a whole arm ripped off...complaining...?
what are you a two yr old?

Yea, if someone stuck their hand in my mouth, they're most likely getting bitten.

Only two year olds bite to settle fights. The wieners on this blog who think it's OK to bite because another player is giving them a face wash have never played any competitive hockey before. Ruutu, if he didn't like it he should of dropped his gloves and show his displeasure with his fists but we all know he only will fight guys that are smaller than him. That why he is the perfect fit for bytown.

It's not ok to bite someone. But it has been pointed out here and shown on TV that the jerk shoved his hand into the other jerk's mouth.
Rubbing your hand in someone's face is not manly. It's bullying and we all know bullies are weiners.

I'm sorry Jed, you're now saying that Ruutu bit him on the weiner?
I've watched the clip over and over and I still can't see it.
