My Ionview friends are those people I attended public school with back in the 1960's.
Ionview Public Schools is located in Scarborough at 90 Ionview Rd. Ionview Rd, runs north off Eglinton Ave. between Kennedy and Birchmount Rd, and it was the place of many fabulous childhood memories.
I graduated from grade eight in the spring of 1969, and while I sitting here in my Peterborough office writing this I'm looking at my class picture from that year.
The picture is a gift I received this very afternoon from a class mate who appears in the same picture.
Trebor Hosier and I went through our entire public school careers together and then graduated to the same high school, Winston Churchill, before I buggered off to Stephen Leacock for grade eleven.
Trebor, known as TR when we wre kids, now goes by Trevor because many years ago he got tired of the puzzled look on people's faces when he introduced himself with a "b" rather than a "v".
Anyway, Trebor/T.R./ Trebor who has a huge brain, got his masters in psychology back in the 80's and now he operates a private practice in Lindsay,
He's also a life long music fanatic and over the years has accumulated quite a bit of rock and roll paraphernalia, so much in fact, that he opened a museum in Omemee a couple of years ago.
I wrote about it last summer.
It's funny how things happen. Brian Ellis, the afternoon announcer at the Wolf, where I now work, contacted Trevor about the museum and in the course of the conversation mentioned that I was now the Program Director in Peterborough.
Trevor gave me a call, and today we hooked up for lunch at a restaurant on George St. in Peterborough.
It was fascinating couple hours as we caught up on old times and old friends and shared and reminisced about some wild things that happened at school. He was as whacked as I was.
T.R's museum is closed for the season, but it will re-open in the spring, and when it does make sure if you're in the area, you're listening to 101.5 the Wolf.
You could win free tickets to the Youngtown Rock and Roll Museum.

Nice picture.
You guys look petty good for a couple of old farts.
Fred , why don't you put TR on the payroll as a consultant and he can have some input to your playlist.
Beatles Elvis Cash Roy Orbison and all the others listed on his site. All my favouites.
He could be the Little Steven of the North. I love listening to the "story" behind the artist and songs.
Michael Williams (ex Much Music VJ) does a great show on Tuesday nights called Soul on the Beach (97.7 The Beach).
Sitting on the cottage deck having a drink on a hot night in the summer listening to his show. Perfect.
Or Sunday nights they do a "Roots of Rock " show. That's just as good.
We had a buch of snow last night. 1.5 inches.
I had to sweep my driveway!!
Hope you guys don't hurt your back's shovelling.

Hey Fred!
My name is Kevin Hosier, i am T.R's son, and I go to Seneca College @ Newnham. My dad enjoyed the visit the other day, and I sure like Al's idea of making my dad a consultant - he sure knows his stuff! He tell's me of some wild times back in the 60's.
Ps; is that Al F from the Hosier Hot Shots??
By the way.. everyone listens to the Wolf in Lindsay!

Yes Kevin . That's the right Al.
Ask your Dad about Mr. Saba's Math class out in the portable.
Having Fred and your dad in the same class was funny enough. But put them together in a portable with a teacher that had no control at all.
Numerous times I had to leave the class I was laughing so hard.
Cheers,
Al

Hi Freddie,
Your post about TR brought back memories! My family lived on Lozoway Drive too, and I grew up playing with Karen, TR's big sister. I wonder how she is? I went to Ionview and Churchill but was a couple of years older than you so I graduated Ionview in 1965. I loved your story about Vienna Meats-we went there for years too--THE best rye bread ever! Did you know Robert and David Lippett, Richard Kerr? I now live in Chelsea (across the river from Ottawa). Nice to hear (and talk) about the good old days!

I usually read the article on weblogs in advance of when I leave a remark. If I have got not a thing to say about the piece of writing topic, I do not leave any feedback. And I prefer to read somebody else’s opinions on that post too. Because I will find valuable ideas in the nice comments. I would have posted “Exciting blog! Wonderful posts!” then I could well be spamming your blog. I too have a webpage, the very first thing I'd do every day after i signed up on my journal is look into feed-back to my blogposts and manually approve or reject these opinions. Keywordluv as well as brings you more commenters. It promotes your position in search engines seeing that you’re not just on quite a few “dofollow blog lists” but additionally on a handful of those “keywordluv lists”. Cheers, Kathy

Constructing a Mosque at Ground Zero has to be the retard plot within the history of the human race, I sincerely consider that it is purposely meant, at very best, to insight controversy. I'm no conspiracy theorist and yet this really is either shameful or hateful, most probably the two. wendi
