Goofy Buggers

November 26, 2008 @ 16:39

Is this political correctness gone too far? I think so, as a matter of fact I know so.

But given the new Canada, despite it being racist and over the top, it's not too hard to believe.

It's what we've become, a nation of over-reactive politically correct nitwits desperately trying to come up with the next thing that will save the world, or at least put the white Canadian male in his place.

Can you imagine if anybody in this country ever came out with the declaration that they were going to dis-continue something based on the fact that someone was black, brown, yellow or olive?

The student union at Carlton University has decided to discontinue their support of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation because somewhere in their whacked out world they latched onto the unfounded belief that CF affects mostly white adult males.

This is not true, in fact there is more than enough proof that this disease does not choose its victims on any level, but that didn't stop the Carlton gang from plunging forward with their a righteous gesture that does nothing but do what they're apparently trying to prevent.

Discriminate.

These feeble minded little twits are beyond comprehension, they go to bloody university but they weren't smart enough to think this thing through. Apparently the motion was kick-started by a few radicals who became delirious with the thought of killing something that supposedly benefitted only the white guy.

They actually issued a statement that boasted they supported a motion to withdraw support because they want fundraising to be as "inclusive as possible," and "CF has recently been revealed to affect white people and primarily men."

Aren't white males included in inclusive?

Not in the new Canada.

Cdn universities are becoming scarier and dangerous as time passes. Not surprising really considering most of the profs ageing hippies.

This along with the very liberal media which has such a strong influence on these feeble minded Gen y'ers (ages 18-27). This generation which only can focus on the most hip reality TV show or what product Apple will be pimping next month is our future. That's indeed scary for all of us. God help us!

Although I agree with you, please don't make it sound like that all of the students at that university are in agreement with this whacked out idea.

As usual, it probably is a handful of crackpots who want to get some publicity and did it ever work. This was the topic on the Oakley show and Michael Coren show, not to mention all the other media coverage they got.

Look, we are even debating it here. There's got to be something more important than this.

Obviously the student Union is mis-informed on the stats for CF but why use such demeaning words to describe them, Fred? You too Argue, is it because it's a Union? What's your fixation on hippies? You've got a real problem there sunshine. I'd take an old Hippie Prof over a narrow minded bigot like you any day. Yeah, the youth today are a real piece of work eh. Nothing like they were back in the day or when I was young! A quote from very well known philosopher, "The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for
authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place
of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their
households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They
contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties
at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers." Fred and Argue remind me of two old farts sitting on a park bench whining about anything and everything.

The Student Union is nuts, however, blanketing all liberal minded people because of this is just plain stupid. As stupid as the Carlton people that made this annoucement. I have no idea how they think this a good idea.

It's a terrifying reminder of how naive one is at that age. I thought I knew everything and had the most enlightened views, but the years following showed me otherwise.

Carlton kids, back off this silly crusade or face a lifetime of shame.

Argie - they don't call it "Lowville" for nothing.

When I went to University, Carleton U was considered the last resort. They would take you even though you had a 59% average. I see nothing has changed in the years since.

The administration of this ridiculous institution needs to keep a tight reign on the student union in the future, because this story went world wide and now Carleton is a global laughing stock. This will affect fundraising, government grants, enrolment, the coveted Macleans ranking and whatever is left of it's credibility. As an FYI, the bright light behind all of this is named Donnie Northrupp, a science major...

So they are already backtracking on the issue. It got enough press coverage that they are changing their minds. And who said the "liberal media" couldn't get things right?

Horace Mann

The Carlton kids have done a good thing for years.
We citizens only have $X dollars to donate to causes we feel stronly about.
They had a thought to support another cause...till a good thing. One reason that came up for not supporting the previous clause was racist in not trying to be racist which seems to happen these days.
good for the Carleton kids...they'll probably rake in more money for a cause not well publicized.
And now people know there is a Carleton U...somewhere in Canada.

Mike from the village that is low

Tell us why you would take an old hippie prof any day over a what you call a bigot like Fred .
I think you are being bigoted towards Fred for not sharing your left wing opinion.

I find it interesting that M f L uses a quote from a dead white male to somehow justify bigotry against white men.
As for these ignorant little whelps, I can only hope that they will learn to put aside their repugnant ideology and open their minds.
Now, I will end with two quotes that apply to this situation.

“The problem isn't that Johnny can't read. The problem isn't even that Johnny can't think. The problem is that Johnny doesn't know what thinking is; he confuses it with feeling.”

"We shall not grow wiser before we learn that much that we have done was very foolish."

Why is Erecting a Mosque at Ground Zero actually sanctioned to take place? I have never heard anything at all so utterly outrageous in all of my life. If this really goes to reality, It will likely to be the hardest situation possible. vicky

It seems like Bud Selig's stupitidity will continue to haunt baseball. The trial is set for April 5. Another baseball season starts with PEDs as a major topic of conversation. Great idea the Mitchelll report. It was supposed to put the Seroid issue behind us but it seems to have put it front and center, year after year......:-)

I'm not a baseball fan, but this whole episode stinks to the high heavens. WHY in God's name is congress (A group of liars if there ever was one) WASTING their valuable time on a baseball player who allegedly lied about taking drugs that may even kill him someday. The country is in the grip of a horrible mess caused by the inattention of politicians for the last 30 years. That boil is getting ready to burst, and here we have Congress trying to "look busy". It's really disgusting. It's impossible for Congress to hold anyone in contempt, because that is the feeling that the entire country has -against THEM!.....:-)

Ahmadinejad mentioned some proof that could help alternative theories had been "covered up" -- passports located inside the rubble and a video of an unknown individual who had been "involved in oil deals with some American officials."
