What Happened To Scott Ferguson

August 13, 2008 @ 11:46

Through all the speculation and changes that have taken place at 2 St. Clair West, a recurring question on this blog deals with Scott Ferguson.

What happened to the guy? Why isn't he on the air any more?

The long time Toronto broadcaster had been doing the morning sports run at CFRB for the past four years, but he was called into "one of those meetings" a few weeks ago and told his services were no longer needed.

I know the feeling. I probably know the office.

Scott is a pro and his passion for sports coupled with his excellent broadcasting ability brought a level of class to the CFRB morning show that will be hard to replace.

As for his replacement, it's another one of those "great mysteries" ........ for those who can't put two and two together.

Currently Scott is doing freelance work at the CBC.

Guess it can be rough in radio and TV. One day you're on the next you're pink slipped by a 'suit' with a lawyer on one side and an accountant on the other.
Speaking of Mark H post, what became of Jim Tatti?

I remember when Ferguson was at the Fan. No one knew more about baseball than that guy.

Contrary to what's been rumoured here, I hear Rick Hodge will be joing the morning show with Carroll. Lord knows, it could use improvement, but will this help?

John Ferguson blew it when he moved to CHUM for that ill-fated all sports attempt, which lasted 1 year.....alot of people screwed their careers on that one, Ferguson, some TSN guys, some FAN 590 guys.........all blew it.

Best thing to do would be to get Scott Ferguson to do play by play for the Jays on Sportsnet or TSN.

I don't know if Bill Carroll's ego will let him work with someone with the talent of Rick Hodge. Used to like Billy when he was a mere player on CFRB, but now he's schilling for every 2 bit advertiser, sounds really fake with the testimonials, he's lost his down to earth/raised in Scarborough personality.

I was in that office too. Remember it well.....Bill Carroll was the "witness"

The city of Toronto needs Scott to go back to his old job with the Blue Jays, doing the call-in shows. He created a huge void in the Blue Jays broadcasts when he left many years ago. The current host Mike Wilner is a complete joke who only knows what he reads. No one can match his baseball knowledge and personality on radio.
