I've never been a fan of Harper myself and have openly criticized him for his policies. The Con's could probably do alot better if they just toasted his ass and replaced him.
Yet, I have watched Harper move to the centre of the political spectrum of late...tho this fact seems to be ignored by Ontario. But Ontario is a place that sees all things "right wing" as evil.
But when you put Harper next to Dion, Harper wins with flying colours. I can at least respect Harper for his somewhat statesman like qualities & he has did things which I can agree with over the past 2 years. Some argue that he's "hiding his mandate, waiting for a majority", but I'm more inclined to believe that when all is said and done, his time in office has shown him he HAS to be more centrist..to govern the country.
Dion...on the other hand is a complete ass clown. How the Liberals managed to chose this dude is beyond me. And his latest "carbon tax" idea is bullshit. It taxes the producers of oil in West Canada, but doesn't tax gasoline at the pump. Seeing Ontario buys all it's oil from Venezuela and the Middle East, it effectively gives the upper hand to oil producing nations excluding Canada. We're taxing ourselves...and letting foreigners off the hook.
If Dion wanted a real plan, he should look at pickensplan.com. Boone Pickens is a legendary oil man...50 years in th field. He's one of the most powerful people in the industry in history and he's come up with a green plan. His plan is to replace electrical generation with wind & solar & use fossil fuels for transport until we build up the infastructure for electric vehicles.
Interesting how a 'right wing redneck oilman' has a plan and Dion has a tax.
More proof that the Liberals have one of the worst party heads since Preston Manning.
