I think we’ll all agree parents who smoke in a car in the presence of a child are irresponsible. Whether they should be charged is debatable and how enforceable it will be is questionable.
If this is wrong and now illegal how about pregnant women who smoke or consume excessive amounts of liquor? Then again we could also debate the whole issue of a women’s right to abort her baby, err chose.
It’s true that yes we don’t want the government or police running our lives but sometimes the innocent and helpless must be protected from their irresponsible or harmful caregivers.

Parents shouldn't be smoking with their kids in the car, I definitly agree with that. But on the other hand I dont agree with the band, I dont like the idea of being told what to do in my own car. If they managed to pass this, what's next? And how the hell is this supposed to be enforced?
Besides that, dont cops have other things to worry about? Dont they have other things to do besides driving around and looking for Joe Blow smoking in his car while his kids are with him. I'm guessing that that's more important then all the shootings and all the gang violence going on right?

This is just another example of the state trying to legislate everything that's right for us.You cannot legislate the stupidity out of people.I could give you example after example but it would take up two pages. Enough of Governmennt interference in people's lives.This is bad legislation plain & simple.

Phil's right. Stupid people will still be stupid about other things, no matter how many laws are made. If you are stupid enough to smoke and even stupider to smoke around your kid, you're already a hopeless case. Let's just throw out all the laws and run amok. When the dust settles, the strongest and/or most intelligent will have survived and we can start all over again with a new race of strong, smart people who will never do anything wrong. Or, we can just keep making laws for those of us who don't know right from wrong. So, who wants to die first?
