Good For Mr. Baird

| | Comments (1)

This is so typical of Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty. He loves to tackle issues that he can eventually blame on the federal government.

An immature meeting with Quebec Premier Jean Charest is exactly what Baird says it was. "All talk and no action."

It's an attempt by two premiers to appear they're tackling an issue, when in reality there's nothing they can do.

They would better serve the people of their provinces by letting the federal government continue with its sensible, rational approach to the whacked out hysteria which is global warming.

"Dalton and I are going to work together and our governments are going to work together to build something that will work, and that will be functional and will correspond with what the rest of the world is doing, including the United States, what they will be doing," Mr. Charest said.

It's true, the approach has gained popularity elsewhere, like in the EU. We signed and ratified Kyoto, after all. This was years prior to "hysteria" over global warming, when it was a backwater issue. Now the world is realizing that you can only ignore it for so long. Also, he province stands to improve its economy making environmentally friendly products.

If global warming was whacked out hysteria, why would our current neocon government even address the issue?
