Back In Paradise

June 13, 2008 @ 09:47

Late last night Delyse and I decided to head for the tin palace because the days are clipping by pretty good and next thing you know, the summer will be over, and not only that, but I may have to join the work force soon and three days weekends will be few and far between.

I can't tell you what my next job will be, but I can give you a hint.

Two words, and the second one is Depot. I've always enjoyed working around tools - that's how I lasted in the radio business so long.

Anyway, I can't offer much today. I've got the internet up here, but it's slow and I have a whole whack of other things to do.

I've got to sand the top of a picnic table and re-paint it. I have to head down to Peterborough and pick up a new barbeque, and I have to get into an aggravating debate with Dan Duran about global warming and how the high price of gasoline is actually a good thing for the environment.

That's what my day will involve. But I encourage you to check back later, because at 4:20 I'll be doing another "bit" with Neil Morrison (aka Brother Bill) in Vancouver.

He does the afternoon show at The Fox and he's been gracious enough to add to the list of stations I bark on every week.

After I talk to Neil, I'll post it for weekend content.

As for stuff in the news.... Those damn Americans have killed two more Torontonians.

Two young men were gunned down in the Theater District and of course it will be blamed on guns being shipped up from the States.

If Americans would stop doing that, we would probably have no murders at all in Toronto because everybody is nice and wonderful and squeaky clean with the best of intentions.

If only more people would listen to Mayor Miller, things would be a lot better.

On another note, the Competition Bureau will investigate gas price fixing in other provinces following the charges laid in Quebec. Several retailers have been charged and convicted after banding together and screwing consumers.

Encouraging, but it's the first time in over 50 years gas price fixing prosecution has led to convictions in this country.

I think its safe to say there's a lot more of it going on, and there has been for decades.

I compare the arrival of guns from the US to acid rain? Remember that panic back in the 80s or the depleting ozone layer? Kind of reminds me of global warming but that’s another issue.

Miller seems to think these guns magically drop from the sky via the US (like acid rain) and into the hands of the boyz from Jane & Finch. These boyz of course frequent the hip Toronto club scene on the weekends and bring these newly found (from the American sky) with them.

That sure was a nice looking SUV eh? How did they afford the gas, but then again that’s another issue…….

Hopefully Dan Duran will enlighten you and by next week you'll be writing about the tar sands.

Gotta love sarcasm.

Right on Freddie - don't know if you saw this rant by Adam Vaughan in last Friday's Star, but it's racist content sickened me. With a**holes like Vaughan running the City, it's a wonder we have any American tourists coming here at all.

...yes, I recall the 'panic-oh-my-the-sky-is-falling' bullshit about the ozone layer... just read today though in the Sun, the ozone layer over the South Pole has come back!

Now, you'd think the environ-MENTAL nuts would be jumping for joy... but no... their latest take now is... with a recovered ozone layer... that will cause the south polar ice cap to... melt! Due to how they claim the ozone layer will now blanket heat over said area.

Uh... wasn't a depleted ozone layer supposed to let in more UV/heat in the first place? And would not a healthy ozone layer keep out the heat?

Damn granola-crunching, unshaven armpit crowd, (women with pit hair down to their knees is really pollution!), enviro-lefties... keep changing their minds... and they don't have a clue what they're babbling about!

One other thing... if you think Miller the "gun-banning fantasizer" is a moron running Toronto now... I've heard George (light in the loafers) Smitherman is thinking about a mayor bid for Toronto... yikes. If so, that would make Georgie our first Queen of the City. Nevermind Hollyweird north... welcome to San Francisco north.

Tell D.D. that he better stock be stocking up on firewood and break out the long johns because this global warming is going to turn into an ice age. The sun spots have dissappeared from the sun(poof gone). The last time that this happened about four centuries ago the earth went into a mini ice age.

Hey Fred, better tell people to stay away from the Theatre/Club district, hell, the whole of Toronto due to these shootings the way you tell people to stay away from Mexico for the same reasons.
