It's no contest anymore people.

The best talk show host in the city of Toronto is Mike Stafford of am 640, and it's got nothing to do with the fact that he's a dear personal friend.

Nobody and I mean nobody in this city, and probably in the country, has the mixture of intelligence, humour and irreverence that this guy does.

Mike Stafford is a Canadian gem when it comes to talk radio in Canada. He's a brilliant thinker, a brilliant writer and a highly skilled broadcaster.

There are others in talk radio in Toronto that give it a good shot, but none compare to Mike Stafford.

I have an saying when it comes to Toronto radio. "you're only as good as your call letters."

And that explains the Stafford situation brilliantly. Mike is the best talk radio host in Canada, yet it will escape many, because he doesn't work for the heritage talk station in town.

They had him, but for some unbelievable, inexplicable reason they let him go. How regrettable!

I don't know what's happened lately; maybe the management at 640 has decided to let Stafford go for it and step outside the usual boring Canadian talk radio box, but he's been on fire lately.

Telling it like it is, and putting it in clearest, most eloquent way

Stafford and Oakley are simply the best. Am640 is so lucky have these 2 guys. It’s a shame Stafford is only on during the day and not the drive home because the guy is always spot on with the criticisms of the city, the mayor and society in general.

Hey Freddie I've been thinking the same thing lately. Stafford did a bit yesterday about being kinder and nicer and it was hilarious.
The only problem with Stafford is, he makes that condescending little twit John Moore sound even worse, so now its back to music in the afternoon.
I wish Stafford still did 4-7.

I agree, put Mike on for the drive home. Those that want to talk about all things hockey can do it in Mike's current time slot.

Your absolutely right Fred. I can't listen to Stafford because I'm working then, but his writing is absolutely thrilling. He's clear-headed, logical and delivers a knock out punch.

If you really are John Moore, you should know you're the reason I stopped listening to CFRB. Condescending says it all.
Listen to Stafford and learn a thing or fifty.

Mike Stafford is f***ing fabulous. That "kinder Mike" segment he did yesterday, while vaguely disturbing, was hilarious. I loved the comments Stafford read from the listeners - one guy was concerned (tongue in cheek) that the station had been taken over by the CBC.

The guy is a genius - and I just love his show. I have listened to Stafford since his debut on MOJO - and I am grateful for the laughs and perspective he brings to my day. Wherever possible, I organize my client meetings around that 1:00 p.m. show. I love him the best when he's unplugged. I have to agree that it seems as though Mike was given the green light to "GO" or to "Give'er" in his performance appraisal - and thank God for that.

Way to go Stafford - you're simply the best...

Mike is the king of trivia!!, wish they would let him do his trivia segments cause his memory is phenomenal. Keep up the greatest work in Talk Radio.

Mr. Stafford is the only reason I still listen to AM640...they should've stayed as MOJO!...but I digress. Not to 'diss Mr. Waters, but I liked Stafford in the 4-7 slot as well.

Agreed....Stafford is the best thing on radio these days. I know a lot of people dig Oakley, but I wish Stafford would get the morning slot. Hate the fact that I miss most of his stuff while I'm at work.

Oakley is okay, but Stafford in the morning would be perfect.
