CanadianThinker applauds Tory MP Pierre Poilievre, Nepean-Carleton, for his stand on Ontario's plan to fully fund sex changes.
This is a dangerous issue for politicians. A politically correct powder-keg.
To speak out against fully funded sex changes, leaves one wide open for accusations of intolerance and homophobia, but Poilievre makes the obvious and rational argument.
Sex changes operations are unnecessary and have should not be considered as long as people are on waiting lists for cancer treatment and MRI's. In other words, necessary treatment.
Sex changes are the most extreme cosmetic surgury available and NO they should not be covered by OHIP or any other funding for that matter. Unless the province wants to pay back all the parents who have had to pay betweeen $150-$200 for their son's circumcision after birth? Holy Cr-ap! Is their nothing better to talk about or discuss in parliment? I seriously have to question the Canadian government logic and value from any descisions made by them. Where is the redo button?
