Move On
There’s no doubt that the Chinese head tax of the last century was wrong and nothing for the country to be proud of.
However, how long must this cloud hang over the heads of Canadians. It happened almost one hundred years ago, yet thanks to our old friend political correctness, those who had nothing to do with the head tax are made to feel guilty for it.
It’s often been said “the head tax is a dark period in Canadian history that shouldn't be forgotten.” But CanadianThinker asks why?
If it was so wrong, if it was so unjust, if it was so long ago, wouldn’t it be healthy if we “did” forget about it.

Why don't we tax the Porn industry to pay for the "Head Tax". This just makes so much sence.
Oh man. This is just another waste of our tax dollars so that a government can look like they are so concerned. It gives them that "touchy-feely" sensation that tree-hugging political correctness freaks love.
They already gave the Chinese and/or their decendants $12 million when all they really need to do is say "On behalf of those who instituted the headtax all those years ago, we are sorry."
End of story!! Get a life !!
While it was arguably an unfair practice of the time, is it not true no one was forced to come to Canada so they could be taxed.
