Great News For Ontario

May 16, 2008 @ 09:53

Exciting times for Ontarians.

Soon any and all medical procedures in the province with be covered by OHIP.

Details have not been released but we can only assume that with the announcement that gender surgery will be covered, all procedures will be covered.

If there's is enough money in the system to pay for a sex change, there must be enough money to cover absolutely every other medical procedure that up until this point has not been covered.

If the system is in such great shape that a man can become a woman, or a woman can become a man at taxpayers expense, then expense for absolutely every other procedure under the sun has to be covered.

Again, Ontario Health Minister George Smitherman has only confirmed gender change, but we can only assume the rest will follow.

George’s buddies will be happy.

How about waiving the prostate exam charge for men? How about financially assisting parents of autistic kids? Nah those things don’t matter to Georgie and his Church & Wellesley gang.

Fred how dare you make such light of this medically necessary operation. I myself plan on applying for this surgery, with a twist. I’m going to have my anus converted into a vagina. Since the Ontario government continues to “F” me, I might as well do it myself!

Great job with the sarcasm Freddy ... cuts right to the bone. Smitherman continues to put his foot in his mouth constantly (remember the diaper issue?) I agree with Argie on the Prostate exam, but what about going back to paying for eye exams?? Wait, what am i saying .. seeing properly and preventing various eye diseases is no where near as important as making sure that "chicks got dicks" and visa versa

...you...sure you got your whole hand up there, George?
My hope is that Mr.Smitherman will benefit from this announcement, seeing as how this dick needs his head removed from his ass.

What you fail to realize Fred is that people requesting sex changes aren't doing it by choice ,but because they are sick. I recognize you or the non medical professionals here don't understand that. Years ago mental illness was seen as a waste of money too

My wife and I were told to shell out $8000 a try for invitro fertilization, which OHIP does not cover....

I really think we are the embodiment of George Orwell's Animal Farm.

Do you think people want to change gender just to take money from the government? Do you people understand the medical issue here?

You know, trans people were children at one time, they were born that way, and have suffered for years and years. Can't you people feel empathy?

Dr. Gonzo, if you want to be a good parent, you would love your children unconditionally, even if they were trans. You would want a society that supports all children, even those who are trans.

If you would reject and not support a trans child of your own, then please think twice before you become a parent.

Fred, if you can publish the first comment, you can publish this.

hey freddie...

i know a acouple of folks how have already done this. boys becoming girls. i know it was not an easy decision for them, and you can only imagine what a long and complicated medical procedure this must be!

and they certainly didn't have the backing and financing of OHIP.
they did it on thier own!

let's have a cocktail with them...
might give you a different perspective?

loving ya!

kevin.

I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body. It's an often overlooked condition. I should hit Georgey up for some cash since, I was already born with the parts I need and I should get re-imbursed.

Ian C,

Lovely of you to torque an arguement, and to question my commitment to my non-existant non-OHIP covered children.

By the way, we still have to pay to get pregnant. Did you?

Dr Gonzo.

P.S. go fuck yourself.

There are very few human beings who receive the truth, complete and staggering, by instant illumination. Most of them acquire it fragment by fragment, on a small scale, by successive developments, cellularly, like a laborious mosaic. ~Ana?s Nin

In an effort to beat substandard spamming located on my wordpress blog, I would probably attach a simple disclaimer at the side of the comment box. I would certainly make it possible for the web-site readers recognize that I encourage these individuals to publicise their own individual websites as long as they invest some valuable information with reference to the content. I will not mind working a little bit in order to end up getting a respectable link.

Why is Developing a Mosque at Ground Zero basically sanctioned to take place? I have never heard something so truly preposterous in all my life. If this at any time reaches reality, It will likely be the scariest thing ever in your life. adriana
