Go Whoever The Habs Meet In The Next Round Go

April 22, 2008 @ 08:27

It didn't take long for the reaction to start coming into FreddieP.ca last night after the Habs beat the Boston Bruins in a game that wasn't really indicative of the score.

Hab fans wanted to rub my nose in it.

As I mentioned yesterday, I was really looking forward to this game and I fully expected the Bruins to play better, but they didn't and the result was another one of those disgusting songfests at the Bell Center, where Hab fans sing that ancient "Na na na na" bullshit song.

And all the while waving cut little while towels. The same crew that booed the American anthem in game five.

Yes, I would have loved to see the Habs fall but it will make it so much more enjoyable when they fall in the next round.

I expect Washington to beat Philadelphia in game seven of that series, which means the Habs will play the New York Rangers. My money and my heart will side with the Rangers.

Honestly, if anybody thinks a team with the profile of the Canadiens, (Koivu, Kovalev, Kostitsyn squared) can win the Stanley Cup, you're sadly mistaken.

The end will come, just a little later than I thought.

Smashed storefronts, looted businesses, torched, damaged and overturned emergency vehicles - those Hab fans sure know how to party, eh ?

And to think Leaf bashers love sneering at this city over a few honking horns on Yonge St after an early round win.

Remember, this was just THE FIRST ROUND !

Also you can bet CNN and ESPN will be taking note.

The great running back Barry Sanders was quoted as saying something like this “when you score a touchdown, you act like you’ve been there before.”

The Montreal morons didn’t act like that at all. Has it really been that long since they’ve won a series?

You Leaf fans really do you an inferiority complex........don't you.... Fred, New York will be a tough series if that's how it turns out. Washington will cave though.....almost did last night.

IT'S NOT HABS FANS WHO STARTED RIOTING..IT'S DONKEY, DUMBASSES WHO KNOW CRAP ABOUT THE GAME AND HAVE NOTHING BETTER TO DO!

Freeway:
Really? Then who booed the American Anthem? Pretty sure THOSE were Habs fans.

Disgusting... I will root against any Canadian Team whose fans boo my anthem, just like I would root against any American team whose fans booed the Canadian anthem.

It's a freakin' game. Have fun and enjoy it, you silly French-types.

Jon: I agree 100%.

That’s why they shouldn’t play national anthems – something bad usually happens. Whether it’s having the flag upside down (1992 World Series) or the singer butchering the anthem or some moronic fans booing it – its just not worth it. The players don’t seem to care as they are usually loosening up during the 2 anthems and not really paying attention.

National anthems should only be used in special ocaiaisons – like the opening game of the season and on Canada day (which wouldn’t affect hockey).

Why don't they just forget the anthems in Montreal. They're not really a part of Canada anyway. Re: the bloc quebecois.

...and I'm sure those weren't Habs fans who threw a tear gas bomb at Clarence Campbell IN THE MONTREAL FORUM riot back in '57 along with 60 people arrested.

Geez, Freeway is sure touchy on this subject, isn't he ?

Freddie, you hit the nail on the head a few days back: it's not the team we don't like, it's the fans.
I just pray that Toronto fans take note when the day FINALLY comes that we win the cup, again.

All you hab bashers are just jealous cause your teams are golfing! Leafs Suck!

I can't even watch the game as soon as the stupid "Na na na" chant starts. I know this isn't exclusive to Habs fans, but it is definitely the most annoying, arrogant and demeaning chant I've ever heard. To show such complete disrespect to an opponent is something to be ashamed of. Why not cheer on your own team (a la "Go Leafs Go") rather than mock the opposition?

Man you Leaf fans are so frustrated, pissed off and jellous, you can feel it as you reed these posts, some of you guys are angry and you mean business!
And I dont blame you guys for being frustrated and angry. If my team was doing as crappy as the Leafs have been doing, if my team was managed so poorly and they haden't won a Stanley Cup since 1967 I would be pissed too!
This doesn't mean that you guys need to be jellous and bash the Habs.

I also agree with Freeway, the stupid assholes who started the riots last night are dumbasses who just dont know shit about the game and are just being morons.

GO HABS GO!

It was always my biggest fear to move to Toronto. Why? Cause Montrealers hate Toronto! But once I got there, I quickly grew to love the city. I made a lot of great friends there (most of them Leaf fans) and I miss Toronto a lot. The problem with this country is ignorance. The rest of Canada hates Quebec? Really? The rest of Canada hates Ontario? Probably just as much. Is it fair? I try to change that mentality everyday here in the west. At the end of the day, we're all Canadian! And, we should be proud to live here. I am not French Canadian..I am Italian Canadian..I don't despise the French and I don't hate Toronto. I've lived in 4 different hubs. Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary..and I don't mean 2 or 3 month stints either. I feel I really understand Canada, and how Canadians really feel about each other and why there is so much disdain from east to west..the geography has caused our problems. If Canada wasn't so vast and its population was more spread out from North to South, we'd have less problems. I mean, what does Vancouver possibly have in common with Montreal? Roberto Luongo is about the closest connection. In the end, do we really know each other or do we really care to? Vancouver has wood, Alberta has Oil, Sask has wheat, Ontario has votes and Quebec has the hottest strip clubs. This is a GREAT country!

Habs fans are assholes, plain and simple.
Not only did they boo the U.S. national anthem, but, many of them boo and/or sit in their seats during the Canadian national anthem as well.
They're just pigs.

In an effort to resist less than ideal spamming in my sites, I would definitely insert a tiny disclaimer adjacent to the comment box. I should probably make it possible for the web page readers realise that I encourage these folks to campaign for their own individual internet pages as long as they invest some suitable information linked to the piece. I don't mind doing work a little bit when you want to pick up a reasonable link.

Creating a Mosque at Ground Zero has to really be the ignoramus plan within the history of humans, I truly think it is maliciously engineered, at very best, to insight conflict. I'm not much of a conspiracy theorist nonetheless this really is either shameful or hateful, potentially both equally. adele
