As a Leaf fan I would rather they play the Sens. Montreal has one thing: Solid goaltending which is something Ottawa obviously lacks. I would hate to see it but if Price can stay hot for the Habs they might go to the finals – God forbid.
Yes I know the Leafs’ chances aren’t good but it sure would make the spring a lot more fun if they make it.
And yes I agree that Dupree chick is a hewwa!

I'm sorry Freddie but I beg to differ with you on this one. The habs are an awsome team and for the most part they've worked hard this year to get where they're at.
Are they gonna win the cup this year? Realisticly I don't see it happenning but I think that if you give them another 2 or 3 years then they will be a serious cup contender.
Price is doing pretty good now and this is only his first season, give it another couple of years he's only gonna get better. They've also got some young talent that will get better as well.
I think the future is looking pretty good for the Montreal Canadiens.
Go Habs Go!

Jason – I assume you live in Montreal. I mean being such a Habs fan why would you live anywhere else? Unless of course you’re one of those Anglos that were ethnically cleaned from Montreal and living here in the GTA.
March 14, 2008 / 11:05
Freddie - are you drunk??? Top to bottom you think that the Leafs are better then the Habs? Exactly what are you basing this on? This could be the dumbest thing you've ever said. Keep in mind that the Leafs played in the exact same weak conference as the Habs did -- if they had a better team then the Habs did then their record would show it. It is that simple.
I thought you were smarter then the average bear; and could look at the Hockey world without your blue and white glasses on.

Actually I'm in Sudbury, I'm originally from New-Brunswick though but moved to Ontario 11 years ago.
I've always been a Habs fan, since I was 4 or 5 years old, even when they really sucked a few years ago I still stuck with them.
March 14, 2008 / 11:41
Hey Ian, I agree with Freddie, the Habs are goin' down. If they're so good why do they only have seven more wins than Toronto?
March 14, 2008 / 11:48
I would love nothing more than a Montreal/Toronto first round match up and have Montreal have their asses handed to them.
Points and history point in other directions though. Montreal has twice won a Stanley Cup with a rookie goaltender (Dryden and Roy), and their best teams in terms of talent have not won since the 1970's. The wins the had in the 80's and 90's were not their best teams in paper in comparison to the Hab teams that were outed.
I think Carey Price is the real deal and if my Leafer's don't make it into the playoffs, it will be really hard for me to not cheer them on.
March 14, 2008 / 11:54
Craig - what do you mean only have seven more wins? I would say that 22% more wins is pretty significant. In fact, right now it is the difference between 5th and 12th in the standings.
I'm not saying that the Habs are cup bound (not that I'm not hoping); I'm just saying that by any stat you want to measure them by they are much better then the Leafs this year.
Take a look for yourselves...

That's why Freddie's post was so dumb. If the Leafs are better then the Habs then they would have done better in the exact same conference.

If the leafs did manage to slip into the playoffs I think they would beat the habs. The only teams they couldn't beat are the Pens, devils and rangers. I think all these games there winning lately will only hurt them in the years to come.
The leafs really need to draft a hotshot young prospect they can build around in the coming seasons. I love the leafs but I think losing and missing the playoffs is the best thing for them this year.

March 15, 2008 / 00:06
GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!
I use to be a leafs fan but for the last two years I have slowly gone over to the sens and habs side. I dont pay attention anymore as long as I hear the leafs are still losing..........
March 15, 2008 / 05:43
Way to go! Glad you're slowly catching on.
March 15, 2008 / 15:30
Freddie, I see the drugs you're taking are effective.
You could now possibly be the most delusional LEAF fan ever after those comments.
But I still love you! (like-ah noah one else)

"From top to bottom the Maple Leafs are actually a better team than the Montreal Canadiens"
This is for Argie...ROTFLMFAO!!
They won't get a chance to play the Habs. Like you said.
"First of all let me say this. I don’t think the Maple Leafs are going to make the playoffs"
It does not matter where the Habs end up.
"You just wait and see"
Go! Habs! Go!

Ok, reg season over and Habs season over and Leafs season.....waaaay over. It is truly nonsense to even suggest that the Leafs have a better team. As someone who like both teams (believe it or not) from N.S. the Habs have more heart, they have more determination, better goaltending, better forwards and better stats overall. The Leafs don't even seem to want to win. The Habs, on paper, are one of the greatest sports franchises ever and with the comment "you must be from Montreal" because someone favors the habs begs the response ...you must be from Toronto to have an entire thread biased towards the Leafs. If you like the Leafs, fine..you are a strong willed man...however, if you like the Habs....you are just smart. Oh and you don't have to be a "french guy" to be a habs fan.
As Doug MacKenzie said...the Habs have become the "team of Canada" replacing the failing Leafs. Wait until next year....after a strong season from the #1 Eastern Conference Team with a bunch of rookies that now have cut their teeth....it will be a blazed path of hard rubber through them all. Wait, I think I am a Habs fan.

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.
