What is it going to take for Canadians to wake up?
Maybe get out of NAFTA also. We need Politicians with some nuts!
March 11, 2008 / 12:19
Mike: What the hell has NAFTA got to do with Cdn tourists going to Mexico? You union workers are all the same. All you care about is keeping that over paid, under-skilled, under worked slug employed at his union shop.
March 11, 2008 / 12:58
Politicians with nuts, give me a break. They are all scumbags.
March 11, 2008 / 15:04
Argie? Let me ask you this, what resemblance do you have with a Human? NAFTA is a bad deal for Canadians as is going to Mexico for a vacation. If it's not a safe place to visit, then in my books, it's not a safe place to do business. I feel the same way with China. No Human rights, then F your products flowing in to Canada unchecked. Or is that too much for your Monkey brain?
March 11, 2008 / 15:20
China and Mexico are completely different situations. I agree 100% with what you say about China – as for Mexico they will have a long way to go but there’s nothing wrong with our country doing business with them.
Just curious, how do you feel about Canada doing biz with Cuba? I suppose that’s OK?
March 11, 2008 / 18:06
NAFTA, ah my favourite subject.
Buzz and the boys want double digit hourly wages then their wives go to Wal-Mart and shop Chinese.
March 11, 2008 / 20:38
Great point Dave! I’ve seen the bumper stickers and all they crap they talk “buy Cdn, blah ,blah, blah” yet the only the thing they own which is made in Canada is their unreliable union made domestic vehicle.
March 12, 2008 / 06:18
Right on Argie; here in the Shwa you see the BUY DOMESTIC license plate frames on the big GM pickups. But ask them where their big screen TVs and home theatre systems are made.
March 12, 2008 / 10:15
Hey boyon00, when you asked them why the TV's and electronics moved off shore, did they tell you why? Workers being exposed to arsenic and other toxins in the manufacturing process. Our developing environmental legislation preventing dumping of toxic chemicals in our lakes and streams. So much easier to move to countries with NO worker protection (who work for double digit cents) and NO environmental laws. Exploitation at it's finest.
I could go on and on but posters here think Corporations are good and good Governments are on the side of Corporations and corrupt countries like Mexico are good places to do business.........and on and on....... what's the sense.
March 12, 2008 / 10:22
Oh and dave, $10.00 is a double digit hourly wage (soon to be minimum wage) and yes, some CAW members make much more than that......jealous? Deny that, and your a bald face lier!!!
March 12, 2008 / 10:35
My so called unreliable domestics have NEVER, NEVER let me down in the 38 years I've been driving. I can't say the same for the Toyota,Austin,Volkswagen, Vauxhall that I tried out over the years. Smoke that, Import Lovers!!!!
March 12, 2008 / 18:54
Lier is spelled LIAR, and there are two Buicks in my driveway.
March 13, 2008 / 16:32
Uh huh, sure Mike. All of those consumer reports and independant surveys that consistently rank North American cars as the least reliable must be full of shit. My old man was stubborn about always buying NA cars too - and every one of 'em was a POS. Result - I will NEVER buy a NA car.
March 13, 2008 / 16:44
While we're at it Mike, maybe you can explain why the foreign-owned production plants based here and the States are able to be much more profitable than their North American counterparts. Are they running sweatshops here, paying their workers pennies on the dollar? No. Could it have something to do with the fact that they produce better quality cars in faster time per vehicle, without a bloated and sluggish Union to get in the way? Hmmm...I think we're on to something...
March 13, 2008 / 21:10
Legacy costs for the domestics are the major reason they are less profitable. They have been here providing jobs and feeding the North American economy a lot longer than the foreign-owned manufacturers. I laugh when people quote consumer reports. Most of those are biased as are you. JD Powers ranks the domestics for quality up there with most imports. But your mind is made up. In your eyes a pile of gold would be a pile of shit if some guy wrote it and you read it. Like my Mom always said. They are not allowed to print it if it ain't true.....bless her heart.
March 13, 2008 / 21:12
Sorry dave. ( with the small d ) I will use the spell check next time if you use the grammar check........
March 14, 2008 / 15:15
How am I biased Mike? A car's a big investment - like I said, I saw the crappy product my dad kept buying for years and decided it's not worth the risk. That not being biased, it's being sensible.

I can tell you have never been in Mexico. Stop saying stupid things about a country you don't know. Stop insulting and using our flag just to spread out lies that you read from the paper. Mexico is way more and ot more different than what you get in the news. I you ever want to come I would be mor than happy to show you around so you realize how wrong you are. For now, just stop insulting my country, would you?
