Fred: I agree with the column and your sentiments but I’m getting tired of people complaining about the Leafs. Leaf management will continue to do what they do (which is managed the team poorly) as long as the ACC is sold out every night. Local corporations continue to support this team by paying highly inflated ticket prices and countless others are on waiting lists if any current ticket subscribers don’t renew.
As a fan of the team, I’ve accepted this fact and will live with whatever product they put on the ice. To use that useless redundant cliché made famous by Bill Watters “it is what it is. He now likes to use “they are what they are”. The only thing that irritates me more than the Leafs’ performance are lame stupid clichés from turds like Watters who call themselves broadcasters.
Damn I’ve gone off on a tangent. This post is supposed to be about the Leafs.
