Amen Freddie! I saw last night’s coache’s corner and felt the same way.
However I did like it when Cherry’s wimpy sidekick/yesman Ron MacLean chimed in about how some “first nations people feeling disadvantages’. Cherry just lost it on him and made the point that “you create your advantages…. Go out and get a job’. Man that was funny. I hope that weasel Fontaine was watching.

I can see where Cherry is coming from, he has become so successful by being opinionated and at time controversial but really, there is only one side to be on in this case and its NOT Simon's

I think what is happening with Simon is sad--on a personal level.
He's obviously not able to control the anger within himself during the scope of a hockey game. He does need help.
I can only imagine the amount of rage that filled his mind prior to stomping on Ruutu.
That said, I can see similarities between Simon's hockey behavior and Theoren Fleury's near the end of his career.
Come to think of it, didn't Dale Hunter do something like this near the end of his career as well? I think he viciously cross-checked Pierre Turgeon.
Maybe this is what happens to some old warriors. They become a danger to themselves and others...?

Saw Coaches corner and I did not understand Mr. Cheeries comments about the incident with Simmon.
Simmon was wrong in what he did. The End...
Mr Cherry had an abusive attitude towards Ron and sulked when he saw there was no applause for what he said.
He was immature in his attitude and I was floored, Don you showed no class.

I watched as well and found Don to be pretty childish when Ron interrupted him. However, I don't get that his comment about "understanding why..." was in any way condoning it as in acceptance, but rather, he can understand how someone could get to that point with Ruutu. He was pretty clear about the fact that he crossed the line to unacceptable behaviour.
Of course then his comment about the number of games suspended vs game missed due to injury threw all of it into question as to where he really stands.

What a relief to discover a page that may be ultimately really worth reading! I've been seeking all-around about this topic but men and women just put rubbish posts, or brief meaningless posts. I have seen a couple vids on youtube but it's now the same as reading a good post. Great job!
