I Am Honoured

August 22, 2007 @ 09:03

I'm off to Trenton this morning to take part in the inaugural "Soldier On" Charity Golf Tournament.

I was invited to take part as a "celebrity" by Mark Hebscher of CH TV. Mark will act as MC for this fantastic event at the "8 Wing Golf Course" at CFB Trenton.

"Soldier On" is a sports recovery and rehabilitation program aimed at introducing soldiers to the paralympic movement to help them recover from injuries.

The program helps regular force and reservists who have been injured on or off duty to maintain an active lifestyle.

But such a lifestyle requires resources and "Soldier On" helps offset the costs involved with competing in the paralympics like custom prosthetics, specialized wheelchairs and sledges for hockey.

It's a shotgun start scheduled for one o'clock and I'll be there will the likes of Mike Bullard, actor Harvey Atkin, Sandy Hawley, Johnny Bower and my favourite hockey player while growing up, Dickie Duff.

I'll take by camera with me and post some of the festivities on Friday.

I may not be able to post tomorrow because I'll be in Trenton sharing a room with Hebscher and we plan on golfing again on Thursday morning.

All I can say is check in.

Hmmm, did I piss someone off with my comment that is now gone? My point was, what does "Soldier On" have to do with prostate/prostrate?

Hey Mike, that might have been me accidentally...

I'm helping FP manage a massive comment spam attack and it's possible one or two real comments got turfed with the boner pill ads.

I always read the content on sites previous to I leave a opinion. If I have little to say about the page topic, I might not leave any evaluations. And I prefer to read someone else’s advice on that post too. Because I can also find invaluable ideas in the good quality comments. I would have posted “First class blog! Nice posts!” then I could well be spamming your blog. I too develop a website, the very first thing I will do daily after i signed onto my internet page is view feedback to my threads and manually approve or reject these remarks. Keywordluv not merely brings you more commenters. It raises your position in search engines due to you’re not merely on innumerable “dofollow blog lists” but in addition on a couple of those “keywordluv lists”. Many thanks, Debbie

Wow!, this has been top-notch excellent write-up. In theory I'd like to publish similar to this also - spending time and serious effort to manufacture a nice blog... except what can I say... I procrastinate an awful lot and never seem to get something accomplished

Who in God's name reckoned developing a mosque at ground zero had to be sensible? I'm not really a great fan of both Glen Beck or Sarah Palin though when equated with Obama and his idiotic administration, the two of these are prodigies, get real America, there's some odd stuff happening. Karen.

Who cares if he lied. Congress lies to all of us all the time and get away with it. I'm not saying it's okay to lie, but if Congress isn't held to the same standard then what's the point......:-)

I'm not a baseball fan, but this whole episode stinks to the high heavens. WHY in God's name is congress (A group of liars if there ever was one) WASTING their valuable time on a baseball player who allegedly lied about taking drugs that may even kill him someday. The country is in the grip of a horrible mess caused by the inattention of politicians for the last 30 years. That boil is getting ready to burst, and here we have Congress trying to "look busy". It's really disgusting. It's impossible for Congress to hold anyone in contempt, because that is the feeling that the entire country has -against THEM!.....:-)

Constructing a Mosque at Ground Zero must be the bizzare notion during the history of human beings, I very seriously believe that it is intentionally purposely designed, at best, to insight conflict. I'm not much a conspiracy theorist but this is certainly either shameful or evil, maybe both of these. yvette
