Then there is Fred Patterson.
He's 50 "somethin"- about the age he should be settling in for the twilight of his carreer, and saving for retirement, or if he's really lucky, maybe saving for a cottage and a boat.
Instead, Patterson is running at the mouth pretending he is judge and jury. He has already convicted the young black male in a "Steven Truscott" type fashion.
A 50 year old fat man with a community college education - obviously has a problem with young black males(aged 16) so he convicted him after consuming his 15th bud lite at some pretentious "Trailer Park".
I could go on about how much dope Fred has purchased illiegally , or how much pot and hash has been passed around at that Tiki bar- but I don't know the FACTS, so that would be silly.
Obviously Patterson doesn't have that type of discipline in his life to obtain the facts and compared to morning radios grade 8 humour, beer guzzling and pining about an internet connection, what's a little red neck lynching?
This is what its come to in the middle-class, white , suburban hell named Brampton.
Think about how little has happened in the life of a 50ish year old for him to become a hostile psuedo red neck judge. How brazen he is, how troubled he must be to post anything, say anything to get back into mainstream radio with his "pull my finger" grade 8 humour
We may never learn the background of Fred Patterson .
Once he sobers up and makes the trip south to Brampton, we will once again here all the painful details about how Toronto's hockey team is doing this and not doing that! We will get his narrow opionins that are pulled from the Toronto sun.
Of course there will be his usual complaints about Toronto- A city that he doesn't have the balls to live in.
But somehow it won't be his fault , he will say " my wife doesn't want to live in Toronto- or " my dog can't live in the City, or there are too many young black males in the city"
And while precious time is being wasted on mundane blogs , more Red-necks will be brought up to the Tiki Bar to bitch and complain about a culture that they are soooo protected from, drink pissy American beer and pretend they no all the facts- then pass out drunk.

I don't think Fred was being a judge jury and executioner at all. When I read what he had to say it wasn't angry words but words of pity and sorrow that things around us have come to this. Somewhere along the line a 16 year old whether black or white shot and killed two people. Perhaps Fred might be quick to talk about the black community, but I'm sure if this kid was white and was rich and his family somehow got him out of trouble because they had money Fred would say something too.

Swampy, here is what we know:
- multiple black youths have been shooting each other late and night with illeagal guns.
- Livingston is 16 years old, out at 3:00 in the morning, accused of gunning down 2 men.
- Livinston is wanted by the Toronto Police and has not turned himself in.
- Livingston looks pretty angry in that picture.
It all adds up to me.
I welcome the news that comes out where this is a poor 16 year old innocent boy who was out of his home in the middle of the night because he wanted to get an early start on his paper route. I really hope he is not involved in guns or drugs or hits in any way. But we both know that is unlikely.

In a way, Swampy is correct; we are not part of this culture, so being outside of the situation does mitigate our response.
However, what is a society that does not challenge what we perceive to be wrong and unjust, and most importantly, endangers the innocent people who coexist in these surroundings? What are we to do? For me, knowing that there are groups of people outside of my family and friends, who care and are aware of what happens in society gives me comfort and hope that change can happen. We just had a 16 year old girl stabbed in Hamilton the day before yesterday by a 16 year old in one of our subsidized housing complexes. Ironically, the mother of the girl moved from Toronto to Hamilton with hopes of getting away from some of the violence and other problems. Well, her daughter got involved with experimentation with marijuana and was stabbed over a $10 amount owing to the "suspect". We, as a society, have moved into an "anything goes" mentality-it's fine for 15 year olds to be out well into the wee hours of the morning-guess what, it's not. Parents need to start doing their jobs and no, I don't think it's the school's job or anyone else's to raise your kids. I have 2 of them and both my husband and I work really hard to instill a sense of values and respect and concern for other people in them. The common part of all these incidents is that we are missing that piece from the equation. Yes, it's hard to be a single parent-that is not what I have to deal with-what I and most of the rest of society have to deal with, however, is the fallout of other parents not coming even close to taking the responsiblity that parenthood brings with it. Until we start to move things along to a point where some of this stuff is unacceptable, we will see no improvement. Sorry, Swampy, but Fred's got a point-I'm done with the excuses put forward by some.

I am black and I am fed up with my "brothers". These people are morally corrupt. They have come to Canada to reproduce, work the system for all it has to offer, and then blame everyone else for the ills of the world. Canada needs to welcome people of all races who are prepared to make a difference - a difference for themselves and for their newly adopted country. It doesn't matter where we start unless it matters where we finish. It would appear that our officials have lost their way in good intentions and have misjudged the people they should be welcoming into Canada. There are many, many, many fine people from all over the world who come to Canada to make a new life. These people build families within and outside their communities. They embrace goodness and lead by example. They have passed the test that all immigrants should have to pass. We need to fail those slovenly dirtbags who are socially and morally irresponsible back to their host countries. Until these individuals take responsibility for themselves and their families they will continue to be a blight on their communities, their cultures and their races. It is at times like these I am ashamed to be black. I hope for the day when goodness shall prevail, and when we celebrate our humanity rather than our color.

Ok lets take everything at face value here. So livingston was at hunts house and they were all minding their own business not committing any illegal acts like drug deals or drinking or anything that can result in conviction or some sort of ticket. So Livingston and Hunt were minding their own business in their house just chillin(word I like to use because I think it's from the ghetto). Now from what Hunt said he and livingston weren't the only people in the house. Cause Hunt lists that the whole family was there and had were saved from harms way by Livingston shooting these two people dead.
Now how about facts that Hunt so nicely left out or never bothered to answer to? Why his 16 year old friend had an illegal hand gun. Secondly lets talk about the House you live in Hunt and the people you surround yourself with one News paper recorded this

Mind you that's just one article, I found about 5 more with the similar type of coverage.
So when you say Hunt was protecting your family and defending himself I say screw that. You guys were both at a house known to your neighbourhood for criminal activity. There wouldn't have been any shooting if your family, Livingston and whatever else thugs you had rooming there hadn't set up shop for dirty dealings. So if anything I hold you and the owners of the house responsible for the 2 deaths you put a spot light on your house to attract criminal activities and I'm sure that these so called attackers that were shot by Livingston a 16 year old with an illegal fire arm at and ungodly hour in the morning were only trying to get money or drugs back from a deal that went bad in association with that house. This is NOT a race issue. The incident involved a black kid shooting 2 black adults. This is a lifestyle and lack of parenting and values issue. Fred was right. Hunt says "Livingston was a hero". Well, I highly doubt that....not judging race.... any 16 yr. old that is awake at 3am (on a school night...LOL) with a hand gun nearby...is not a hero.
Now if its 3 am...at a campsite and 2 bears crowd your space and you use your rifle (for hunting the next day) to shoot the bears and save your family....your a hero!

LOL @ all the comments, I knew what happened as well, so if you people knew that these were 2 crack heads breaking into a familys home trying to stab sum kid who had it on him, its his fault for having it, and shouldnt have had a gun, but who doesnt now? look at everyone, The Jordan Manners inncident, and everything that happens in Toronto, Hell i'd walk around with a gun too, I'm not saying Livingston is right for doing what he did, But either he shot the 2 crackheads who are 34 and 43 and basically has the inncident shown... have ruined there life by using crack to an extent that they would try and rob a 16 year old little kid...Either a 16 year old, who could of been in school, or TRYING to do something with his life... but just got caught up with drugs on the way, BUT still may of got his life back together, could have died. or two crack users already in there 30's and 40's addicted to the drug enough to end a life for a little ammount of it could have died, I dont know, But frankly what happened is just a disgrace in all aspects...

Just to chime in on the issue that Freddie brought up...What happened was tragic with the 16 year old and the shooting but when things like this happen, it needs to be made an issue, the two men he shot and the whole thing should be used as an example by society that our kids need to be loved and shown the right things. If this kid had any sense of responsibility he wouldnt be out with a handgun at 3 am...I totally blame the parenting or lack thereof. This kid needed help long before he shot these two men and society at large failed him. While parenting may be the key...i also believe that the community needs to be held accountable as well from the school system, neighbors/friends and everyone that this kid came into contact with in his life. Despite what he did, it is imperative to remember that all kids can be reclaimed from incidents like this. I hope he doesnt get life in prison...Hes only 16, hes still a minor, I think this is where the Correctional system (prison) really needs to work to correct this young man so that he could contribute to society. Its called using crisis as an opportunity to teach the right thing. An opportunity to reclaim this young man.

I was reading your posts and wasn't planning on writing until I read Hunts post. Hunt wasn't in the house...he may of known him...but he wasn't there. If he was he would know Cliff was unarmed...Cliff wouldn't hurt anyone. He didn't even want to be there that night...was just giving someone a ride. He ran....yes he ran from Davis....I just want to know why did Davis have to go after him....cliff was wanting to get away....far away from that house. Cliff ran for his life...who was Mr. Davis trying to protect when the apparent person doing the family harm was running away!!! I just don't understand and it hurts so much not knowing. Hunt you good friend was protecting his drugs...nothing else. I can't say much more because it wouldn't be right, and I really don't need to defend Cliffs good name to someone like Hunt. Maybe you have heard of the new Kinect? Its definitely awesome! I never had so much fun playing video games before, eventhough I could call myself any hardcore player that will usually plays adventures like Call of Duty and so on. The Kinect is so different than everything else I have at any time played before. this motion controles job really well, and not just that, but not needing to use a controller to play is the personification with freedom! No infuriating button smashing any more, a single word is enough! You should think about getting a new Kinect!

Brand-new heard of the new Kinect? Its really awesome! I never had much fun playing gaming system before, eventhough I could call myself the hardcore player this usually plays mmorpgs like Call of Duty and stuff like that. The Kinect is definitely so different than everything else I have ever played before. the motion controles work really well, and in addition to that, but not being forced to use a controller to learn is the personification of freedom!
