I loathe giving VFTW any attention, but this is how they justify themselves:
"We agree that a fish out of water is entertaining, and we want to acknowledge this fact by encouraging people to make an even funnier show by helping the amusing antagonists stick around. VFTW sees keeping these contestants around as a golden opportunity to make a funnier show."
A funnier show? I think it's a very sad show, made that way by VFTW and the producers of Idol, who are exploiting Sanjaya's alleged appeal. When the dust settles, and Sanjaya's 15 minutes are up, will the VFTW or Idol be there to pick up the pieces? Not likely. I too hope the show ends for good this year.
And by the way, Sanjaya sucks.

Hands down, Apple's app store wins by a mile. It's a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I'm not sure I'd want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.
