The Incredible Journey - Part 3

March 15, 2007 @ 09:06

John and the boys expected an eight hour trip from Montreal to New Jersey, but they arrived in East Rutherford in just five and a half hours.

As they were checking into their hotel there was a woman screaming about having her purse snatched, but John decided not to get involved.

Instead he went over to the rink and was pleasantly surprised to find out that even Sydney Crosby can't sell out the Meadowlands, so getting tickets for this game was no problem.

The pre-game meal was at Jimmy Buffett's Bar which is only a couple of minutes from the the rink, and I think John was going to have a beer.

UpDate from New Jersey, With regard to Montreal Tickets, there were no
tickets available, you could buy one on line, but 4 was impossible,
everything worked out but I have a feeling the French that witnessed the
altercation are probably saying I am an English Pig. Oh Well, sitting in
east rutherford, the kids have remarked that nobody around here even knows
there is a hockey team. Looking for scalpers here was a waste of time, you
just walk up to ticket sales, no line ups, bought the $30.00 tickets and
sat anywhere you wanted. I must say the arena looks good for being 20
something years old, I guess no private boxes shuts it down. The devil
fan's (3) that I found were pretty disgusted that the team was going to
newark, they explained to me that newark is a slum, but I kept my thought's
to myself with regards to slums, this whole state is a slum. Oh Well. When
we pulled into the hotel, (Crowne Plaza), some lady had just had her purse
snatched, i am glad we stayed upscale. We had dinner at Cheeseburgers in
Paradise, got some great tiki bar ideas, its like this bar was built for
me. Anyway thats it for now, heading through NYC, maybe central park, then
off to Philly, kids still excited about the art museum, we are pretty
cultured when it comes to the art museum, the kids have track suits ready.
Got to go, more sirens. Be Back for St, Paddies Cheers.

I agree, New Jersey is a slum. I've been there twice because it was cheaper then staying in New York. anyways, I'm seriously jealous of the trip you and your boys are on. I've always wanted to do something like that with historical stadiums.
