Frankly, Fred - That's the kind of Dean Blundell cr*p that turned me off 102.1. I was a long-time listener of CFNY in it's glory years - Pete 'n Geets, Skot Turner and Alan Cross etc., and that includes you and Howard. Good for you for being loyal to Blundell but honestly, he's like a fart - funny at first but after a while there's nothing but a bad smell. I listen to the mighty Q now but I miss the old days of CFNY. Good luck to you, Freddiep - I check out this site every day.

These guys are one of the reasons that I stopped listening to 102.

They do what they do well but sometimes I find it almost vulgar for the sake of being vulgar and a little repetative to listen to daily and speaking of repetitive it's just too much of the same songs over and over and frankly - maybe i am getting old here - but not even I want to hear Sabotage by The Beastie Boys that early in the a.m.
I don't need to tell you that stations play too much music in the a.m.
Honestly, as much as 102 has a place in my heart when I compare our offerings to UK radio I can't ever go back.
Did catch Josh Holliday on X FM Calgary earlier and he was in good form alhough, again, they aren't offering the same variety of lat and indie rock as an X FM UK or a BBC Six either

Fred: I just discovered your blog thanks to the Lee Eckley posting about The Police.
This is great Fred. I'm adding it to my daily read. I live in California now and I'm a suit and tie guy way out of radio, but I loving reading the SOWNY radio board and keeping track of who suddenly decides to, er ah, "RETIRE".
Now, your site. All the best-Gene Valaitis

I think my original comment was a bit too harsh and that's why it dissappeared. Suffice it to say that I don't laugh when I listen to the morning crew at CFNY these days. I miss my Humble and my Fred.

Kelly - Even though I didn't see your message, I can guess what it said - and I agree with you. I gave Dean Blundell a fair chance - about a year - and I have to say, a lot of what he did and said...well...it was just plain revolting. I miss Humble and Fred too, and the classic years of CFNY music.
