I've been meaning to make a point since Thursday night but keep forgetting. Even though he's dirty rotten Ottawa Senator, I gained a whole new respect and appreciation for Sens goalie Ray Emery.

I loved him in that brawl against Buffalo. Before he even started fighting Emery had a huge smile on his face as he skated towards Sabres goalie Martin Biron. It was like he knew he had to fight but the concept was so stupid it made him laugh - and he continued to laugh through the whole fight.

Freddie he was laughing because he knew he could kick the shit out of Biron. Notice he stopped laughing when Peters came over though!

Hockey was getting exciting again. Skill was winning over goons. Players with talent were getting known.

Then a hit to the head.

Legal? maybe. But that's not the point.

Was it an attempt to injure? Sure looked like it. That is what happened. What else but to take out the Sabre was that hit intended to accomplish?

Head hits are just stupid. The NHL needs to put an end to them. They have no place in the league. If the NHL is to survive and thrive, it needs to develop stars, not goons.

Someone should give Colin Campbell a hit to his head and see if he still thinks that's an ok thing to do.

Chris Niel is the biggest fag in the league. He is on record that he tries to injure when hitting an apponent. Where was he when all the fighting started? On the bench!! I know he doesn't make up the lines, but seeing as how he started the whole mess, he should have asked Coach Murray to stay out on the ice for the next faceoff knowing full well what was going to happen. Chicken shit!!! I believe that Emery is a boxer off the ice.
